Who have you had enough of ??

No, you're doing it wrong. You've got to say it like a question. Like, "How are you doing, eh?" Eh, question mark, eh, question mark.

    Kicking the addiction...

Oh wow, there's a NAME for what I have?! LOL! That's interesting. I'll have to look it up. Thanks Morningoasis.

    Getting to know you ...

Bandpal - wow, a kibbutz! I've read about them but never actually knew anyone who lived on one. How cool are you!! How did you learn about it and get interested in living on one? Where did you go for your surgery?

Who have you had enough of ??

Oh, BOO!! What about the beloved Anne of Green Gables series! Kidding. Did you ever see Nothing Too Good For a Cowboy? It was on only one year but I did really enjoy that one. I wish they had that series on longer. Oh, and have you ever heard of the Designer Guys on HGTV? I was on the same plane as them once! haha, my brush with Canadian celebrities.

    Customer Service is no more!!!

Don't hate me - I'm from the west - Saskatoon. I've been to Toronto only once for a wedding but didn't get to see much of it. We saw a Blue Jays game and went shopping downtown, and THAT's IT! argghhh, I hate visiting a place and not seeing anything of it.

    Nsv

For the first time in years I don't have to wear makeup - my zits are all gone. That's a symptom of PCOS - zits, lots of them. With weight loss the symptoms can dissipate. Oh, yeah, a pant size smaller! Went shopping today.

    Kicking the addiction...

Totally agree with your sentiments! By the way, when I said find a new addiction, I didn't really mean addiction! I was thinking about that last night and I thought oh, geez, someone's going to post about that. I just meant find something to keep your mind occupied, something that will take your mind off it, something you will like to do for hours at a time, that kind of thing!

    Bitches

Oh, I absolutely loath working with other women. It has just never worked out well!

    Customer Service is no more!!!

Oh, I know. I've had some very positive customer service things happen as well - this is just one negative that I had to get off my chest. :biggrin1: Sometimes when I'm in a store the clerks seem surprised at how nice I am if mistakes happen - I AM a very easygoing person usually. Really! haha:D

I agree - sometimes you just can't win.

    Kicking the addiction...

I feel EXACTLY the same way. The band has been a lifesaver in that I can't binge the way I used to or else I'll screw some part of my innards up. Food can be an addiction just as strong as drugs or alcohol. And it sucks because, unlike other addictions, we can't avoid food. Turn off the TV or tape your shows and fastforward through the commercials or turn the channel before a commercial comes on. I watched a show from ABC on the internet the other day. There's only one commercial every 15 minutes or so but you can't fastforward through it. It was a Papa John's commercial. I couldn't believe it! Every 15 minutes I was looking at pizza. I was like a week out of surgery or something. I agree with you about the damn pizza bastards! Find another addiction. Mine has been, no joke, coming on this board at least 100 times a day. It keeps my hands busy where before my hands were busy stuffing my face. My bodybugg is also enroute, which I think will become another addiction - plugging in all the info needed on that thing. I'm finding my old hobby of reading is really hard to do because I used to read and eat at the same time. I get antsy when I read now. Then I log onto here! Keep your hands busy and your mind elsewhere. That's the best I can give you. Linda

    Getting to know you ...

Dena, I've never been either, but trust me you are going to LOVE the east coast. I know a lot of people who've gone there, including my parents. I wish I had gone before I moved. Who knew I'd wind up in the States.

    Pain while sitting

I wonder if that's similar to the shoulder pain a lot of people have. Some theories on the shoulder pain is a nerve is getting rubbed, some theories are trapped gas. But definitely phone the doctor for sure.

    Is anybody hungry???

Hey, Foofy. Where are you in Montana? I once took a trip through Glacier National Park (beautiful!!!) and Kalispell, and then camped out in the wilderness somewhere around there on a two-week wolf study. I had so much fun there and it was just so totally, awesomely beautiful. I can't say enough about it.

    Deciding

If they're all good on paper, then pick the one that seems like he/she will really care about YOU, making sure you learn the facts, give good after-care, is available for calls (or at least the nurse is), that kind of thing.
  16. Your own cheap slippers which you don't wear at home due to germs - ughh!! I reused the ones I had from being in hospital when I had my baby. Eye mask - for when they decide to do maintenance at 2 a.m. on your call button (yes, this happened to me) Ear plugs - for when the very nice old lady next to you calls a nurse in every hour to be repositioned (yes, this also happened to me) Books. A private room if you can get it. Comfy, baggy clothes so you don't have to wear the gown with the gape in the back. This was a lifesaver. It was hard enough just to get up out of bed to go pee without having to make sure that gown was wrapped around my bum all the time. The nurses took my IV's out so I could do this and then put them back in again when I was changed.

    Can we eat popcorn?

I miss popcorn! I can't wait to try it when I'm on solid foods. I can't believe I'll go see a movie and have to order a SMALL - usually it's the big tub with extra butter! I hope I'll be able to tolerate it.
  18. Right after surgery you're not hungry for about the first week, maybe longer if you're lucky. Then you're so terrified of screwing up your band/stomach/esophagus/all of the above that you won't want to eat the wrong way.

    Together or Separately?

I agree. It took me a week to feel pretty much all right, but I could still tire easily - especially with a little one. If you have kids I'd recommend waiting 2-3 weeks apart, but otherwise 1-2.

    Hey Green. Where ya from?

    Customer Service is no more!!!

Good outcome! So, as a person who understands customer service, what should I have done? I was like you said to be - firm, courteous, polite, but they were so obviously enjoying it. It was getting very frustrating. That's when I started to lose it, I admit. There's nothing I hate worse than someone saying "I apologize" in a very condescending, non-apologetic, I'd say almost sarcastic tone over and over again. It was like they knew they had the power and were having a power trip. They really had me between a rock and a hard place and I had nowhere to go. What would you have done if it happened to you?

    Is anybody hungry???

The only interesting things I've ever eating are buffalo and alligator.

    When do you get hungry

My main binge times were naptime and nighttime when my son is asleep. I hear you! That is definitely munchies time for me. I've figured out why I'm on this d#mn computer so much - it's a nervous habit because I can't do the munchies thing anymore. I can't even sit still to read a book anymore because I used to eat chips or whatever while I was reading. I'm having to learn to just sit, enjoy my book, and that's IT. It's nice to have at least figured out WHY I'm acting so jumpy though.

    "Know-It-Alls"......bug me to no end

I totally agree with this. While I am not a stupid person, I have asked "stupid newbie" questions here because I wasn't informed on certain points. Thank God I found the answers here before I really screwed up my band. :kiss2:
