I did a bad bad thing.

It's honestly a little worrisome how different each surgeon this. I was given a booklet to follow only to find out that they were in the process of working on a new booklet and that particular information was no longer valid. The Dietician did the same thing. Then of course you have to see their Dietician because they're the ones that supposedly specialize in it. I'm not saying that they don't, don't get me wrong but there should be a bit more uniformity to a procedure like this and everyone should be on the same page. Congrats on your 14th day. You're ahead of me… LOL. I know what you are saying about being full. They've actually told me twice not to eat at all if I wasn't hungry but if I actually followed through with that, it could be dangerous. I'm not hungry at all but I still made myself at least get something small down tonight – just broth. I didn't even know they had protein Jell-O! – That's a good amount of protein – it's what I was going for without the idea of the physical turkey… LOL i'll have to look into these. The doctors offices didn't want us to really go outside of the proteins that they suggested. I should have looked into it more though. I just had IV fluids in the hospital and I was discharged, I was told I could eat sugarfree Jell-O or chicken broth. I didn't really have an issue with that except for my reaction to it.
  2. This is going to sound completely crazy because I already have the surgery but, there is a written in my booklet about whether 344.… I know it's an hour before or after but not both. They told me but it isn't written down in any of my booklets. I was hoping one of you might know so I can get this question clarified. If not, I will have to ask the doctors office. I really wish it was written down. Blessings, Natalie

I did a bad bad thing.

The positive thing is, I moving forward with the diet. I thought I was still stuck on liquids today but I wasn't. There's a lot of confusion with my doctors office and I'm in a get it clarified on Thursday all I know is I don't want to have to go back to the hospital. My pain medicine haven't been working very well – I think because I don't have food to help digest them – only liquids and, that's not helping my normal pain let alone the new surgical stuff. I'm on high doses of Norco – Vicodin and – and I take two at a time multiple times a day on top of other medications and it's my big fear that they were just sitting in the pit of what's left of my stomach and forming an Ulcer. Plus, if they have to give me fluids, I have to Though have to go for a central line. They couldn't get a vein. Getting dizzy and lightheaded and having to grab things for support is not good. I know I shouldn't have eaten it – I wasn't craving it – actually 99% of the time I'm not hungry in the first place. I just thought that the protein would be positive and hopefully help. I'm crossing my fingers and praying that the meat didn't cause any problems. I'm hoping I would've found out hours ago. I really did try to do it the best way possible and to avoid problems. I really need to understand why we can't eat some things but not others. I'm know each doctor is different though.

    Fluid drinking after surgery.

So maybe it's good that I drink all that water? LOL just kidding… I'm honestly not really hungry – at least I don't think I am that is. I had a need for protein today – I've been getting dizzy and a few other things but, I didn't rectify that in the best possible way. I'm just trying to you the best I can :-)

    Stall for TWO weeks?

I'm only one week postop but I have to tell you, you're putting to much pressure on yourself. The weight will come off in time. I'm unfortunately not able to do exercise right now – or much of it I should say but, I'm doing my best to follow my plan and get through it. That's all you can do. Sometimes the way comes off quicker than others and sometimes when you worry too much about it, the way to stay on. Just take a deep breath and realize it's nothing you can control and try and let it go. I know that's not easy to do but, it's important not only for your mind but for your body as well. Trust me, I've learned the hard way about worry too much and it does take a big toll on your body. Let's face it, your body still healing. It'll get better

Sorry about the typos – I'm glad you figured out what I was trying to say… My iPad doesn't always type what I say.

    Surgery without staples?

I guess it depends on the doctor but, my doctor never mentioned we have a Staples and even though I had probably about 20 surgeries, there's only one another surgery that I had staples on… But, this one had staples. I wasn't too happy about it. It's not like I'm going to be wearing a bikini or anything but, it's just scarred I guess… When I asked about it, they said that Staples help for drainage and watching for infection. Being that I've had a lot of problems with healing I have rheumatoid arthritis and my immune system is shot, I guess I can't complain about the Staples… Still don't like them though…

    Fluid drinking after surgery.

I was told something different it was either not to drink an hour before or an hour after… I'm not sure which one I guess it differs from doctor to doctor. But I can definitely say I'm having a hard time of it. I drink a lot of water.
  9. I'm planning on having the sleeve in a week. One of my concerns – grant it, a very small concern compared to the surgery and weight-loss process is my skin. Does anyone have any lotions or products in that realm of things that they've tried when it comes to nourishing your scan with the hopes that it will try to rebound as best as possible? I predict coconut oil does amazing things but, there's a wide variety of levels of products as well as different ones with different ingredients. I'm trying to find the purest form possible without spending an arm and a leg. I'm open to any and all ideas and suggestions… Thanks a bunch
  10. I guess it just depends on the doctor. I had to buy these vitamins made by a company called "fusion"… My doctors office sells them to make it easier. They don't up charge it or anything – I checked them out on the website. But they are a bit pricey but if it's what I want to do for now then, I will follow it. The nutritionist said that after the surgery, we can work on and figure out the most cost-efficient way for me to do it. I've been taking a prenatal vitamin for quite a long time – my doctor prescribed it so, I'll have to be off of it for a while and onto the bariatric ones.
  11. My doctors have advised that the sleeve does not encounter the dumping syndrome. They of course want you to stay away from sugars and carbs but it's that's in order to lose weight. I already have other stomach problems and that's one of the reasons I picked the sleeve over the band or the original gastric bypass. Another form of vitamins if you're interested, minor called bariatric Fusion You can look online for those as well. From what my nutritionist said, you can't just take a regular multivitamin. There's other vitamins that you need as well.

    Hello

You guys can buy something called psyllium husk. It's a more natural way of taking your "fiber pills." They are really inexpensive and if you look at the ingredients and Metamucil or most of the other fiber Brands, psyllium husk is the main ingredient in it. Just a suggestion. Hope it helps. Natalie
