Start weight....154! Wow! I can't wait to get to that weight! I didn't think any doctor would do WLS unless you had at least 100 lbs to lose or had high blood pressure, or diabetic, etc. Anywho, I'm only 2 weeks out, just started soft food, so I'm looking forward to eating salads again!! And I can only hope that my sleeve has the same mindset as yours!

Goodbye Lane Bryant
SleeviePete replied to Brighteyes's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Love LB back smoothers bras....then they discontinued! Hello LB..BACK SMOOTHER!!!! I, personally, am looking forward to wearing cute Macys, Nordstrom, maybe even Victoria Secret ????. I think LB clothes are a bit matronly and prints galore! I feel it's like "hey world look at this big, brightly colored fat girl"!! So, I turned to Torid for some cute summer items. But I am very happy to say...goodby to the "big girl" stores, Hello cute fashion!!! -
Really?? So you're saying that because they do a lot of surgerys they are "experienced"? Just because a builder builds a thousands homes...doesn't mean they are always built safe. Just my opinion...that's it.

Did anyone ask for their stomach to take home?
SleeviePete replied to unbesleevable1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Love it! I thought about it, but forgot to ask. I think there's enough on YouTube to satisfy my curiosity. -
Wow, do I feel lucky. It's weird mine are in totally different areas. I have 4 small incisions (smaller than the width of a dime) and one (about 1 1/4 in) where he took out the stomach, they are glued. I'm 1 week out and it looks like they are almost healed. I'm sore but really not that bad. I'm totally for pain meds, take them if you are in pain. That is what they are there for.

48 Hours Since and Still cant drink
SleeviePete replied to KCSG's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
OMG...me too...eyes, that is! I find that I can't see, as well, up close. Good thing I have a pair of readers on hand. I wonder why our eyesight would change. I'm 1 week post op. -
Personally, morning. But I think you can weight yourself whenever you want, just do it that same time everyday. That will give you a better idea of your actual weight loss. Also, If you are weighing yourself a lot during the day, you may not always like what it says.

I'm on my 6th day of my 2-week liquid post op diet....and I want pizza!!! Watching TV with all the bad food commercials is, quite frankly self sabotage. I think once I get back to work, next week, it may be a bit better. But I hear you....sometimes I "think" I feel hungry too. And I want to chew!!!

G2 is a low calorie Gatorade sports drink that has electrolytes. Lemon-Lime is my favorite!! -
Worried about post op pain? Me too
SleeviePete replied to Belize's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my surgery on 8/30. I was totally ok going in, I too was most afraid of the "after". 1st and foremost pick up your meds for post op before you go in. You will need the pain and nausea medications the first night home for sure, at least I did. Being in the hospital was fine, because they are giving you all you fluids, pain meds, and nausea meds intravenously. Yes, you walk, and I had to drink at least 3-6 protein drinks before I was released. I stayed only one night. I wanted to go home....but then again I didn't. I "slept" the first night sitting up. I took pain and nausea meds the first day. I still take the pain med at night so I can roll over. Fortunately, I have not had any gas pain (yet). I walk around my tiny apt as much as possible, going outside, which is super hot, to get mail and do a turn around the complex. I keep a log of everything that's goes in. The past 2 days I've been able to get 94-99g of protein in. G2 and ice chips are my friends. I can drink non-fat milk with the powered protein mixes which helps with getting in all the blooming protein!! All in all, I would say the first night home was the worst and everyday it gets a helluva lot better. I hope this helps and please let us know how you are doing. -
I'm getting sleeved on Friday...yes, this Friday! Maybe its just jitters...but is getting sleeved really worth the bad breath, bad BO, loss of hair, dumping, constipation, almost pukes, full blown pukes...what else am I missing? I know the weight....but does it really and truly "outweigh" the above? Any advise, stories, pat on the back...would be welcomed. Thanks!

SleeviePete replied to SleeviePete's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh my gosh!! Thanks to all!! I've been a total yo-yo. When I think of the health issues I have now, and if I keep on my current path, everything will get worse...It has to be worth it and my life! Thanks again everyone! See you on the losers bench. -
Me too! I'm going to Reno! Last hurrah eat, drink, get a massage from a beautiful man named Mike or Steve...some manley man name....then home and wait till Friday. See you on the losers side my sleeve sista.

I haven't had my surgery yet, but since I've scoured this forum this is what I plan on bringing: Chapstick Gas-X strips Listerine Strips Your own bed pillow Toothbrush Toothpaste Olay face cleaning cloth Ear plugs Deodorant Small firm tummy pillow Oversized clothing (going to wear home what I walked in with) From what I have read, you really don't need much more. Perhaps an iPad or music and your phone. Depending on how long you are in for ???? I'm scheduled for 8/30. Keep us updated on your progress!!
