Almost a year Post-Op and I could use some help and advice
nsantoro126 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello everyone, I am almost a year post-op and I have only lost 60 lbs. I was 275 the day of my surgery and I am currently 215 (I am 25 years-old and 5'10"). I know I didn't have as much to lose as others but I just thought I would be farther along than I am. I am hungry often and there are days where I can eat 1500+ calories. I go to the gym 3-4x's a week and do cardio and strength training. I try and eat a lot of lean meats and Protein but there are days where I will eat 100+ grams of carbs. I am worried that my stomach is stretched out and that I will start to gain weight and that I am not losing as fast as I should. Could you guys offer me some advice? I have been very depressed about this lately and feel like I'll never be able to lose this excess weight, especially around my mid-section. (I apologize for how badly this was written, but I wrote it in a hurry)- 13 replies

Graduated to puree!

I was so stoked ion my first purée day! I recommend black bean chili (I know Amy's brand is good) with a little sprinkle of Adobo or salt and pepper. Refried beans are good too! I'm starting to salivate lol -
I am getting a little personal, but how often are you having a bowel movement? I used to go every day and since the surgery (4 weeks out) I've noticed I've been going every two-three days and when I do go I feel like it wasn't, well, everything. I don't like laxatives ( they're a little too intense for me) so I'm wondering what everyone is doing if they have noticed constipation since their surgery? Should I have a Jamie Lee Curtis yogurt lol? Probiotics? Thanks or the advice (and sorry if I was too blunt lol)!

This is also a report from the post-op thread by the way

Hi everyone, So I was told not to lift anything greater than 15 lbs for 4 weeks but was never given a time period as to when I could return to the gym, I was just told to take it easy. It's been almost 4 weeks since my surgery date and I have noticed the weight loss start to slow down. When did you guys return to the gym? I'm ready to kick-start the weight loss again!

I was the same way. Constantly have a water bottle by your side. I was worried about this too but having a large water bottle really helped. Every 15 try and drink 1/2 oz - 1 oz. I marked my bottle with a Sharpie to remind me how much I should drink. I've noticed I can drink a little more without much resistance (I'm just about 4 weeks out). Feel it out and best of luck to you!

Like yesterday I could only eat a few sips of soup but today I had that entire yogurt?!
