I am 3 weeks out of surgery. Last night I woke up in the middle of the night with lower left back pain. I thought it might be my kidneys but my PCP couldn't find anything concerning in my urine sample. Anyone else have these issues?

How can you tell if you are constipated if you are still passing gas? I Am having pain in my mid to lower left abdomen. Could this be constipation and I not know it? I really don't know what it could be.

6 days out and I can't even get 2 protein drinks or yogurt in a day. I am trying but by the afternoon I don't feel good at all for the rest of the day. Then today I started diarrhea. This sucks. Any suggestions?

Thank you everyone for your kind comments and helpful thoughts. I ended up with an IV this afternoon which made me feel a whole lot better. Tomorrow I will head to the stores to collect some protein to start incorporating. Thank you so much.

I am still on clear liquids. What can I have that has protein?

Does chicken broth have protein?

I am still just sipping. I did get a regular Powerade and mixed with water. I really hope it helps.

I went in for my sleeve 2 days ago...and ended up with the plication instead. I don't know why I changed my mind last minute but I feel more comfortable with the decision. But I can't help feeling like a failure...like I chickened out or something.

I have my sleeve surgery on Friday morning. That is only 2 days away!!! I can't believe the time has come already. And I am freaking out. I am having the surgery with Dr. Ariel Ortiz at the OCC in TJ, MX. I have only heard fantastic things about their clinic and recovery, but I hate the nagging thought that refuses to leave my head that keeps asking the questions like: "What if something goes wrong after the surgery and my hospital or doctor don't know how to help me?" or "I hate throwing up and throwing up directly out of surgery would be awful. Is that going to happen to me?" or "What if I get there and I end up having an enlarged liver or something and they can't do the surgery?" So I guess I am just asking for your thoughts and prayers...and if you have answers to those questions to help put my mind at ease, that would be great too. However, thoughts and prayers please...lots of prayers. Thanks.

I am 27 and have been looking into getting the sleeve for a few months now. I keep going back and forth on whether I should get the sleeve or the plication. I just feel like I am so young still to lose part of my stomach for the rest of my life. I know that sounds stupid, but I don't know how else to describe it. Why am I so scared about this when I know it will help me and my family in the future? I guess I just need some reassurance. Thanks for anything you can tell me.

I know this sounds like I am just worrying too much, but I want to be prepared in case this happens. I am getting sleeved this Friday in Mexico. What would happen if I got a leak after returning home? Would they know how to treat it at our small hospital? I just want to make sure I consider everything! So anyone with this experience or thoughts would be great!

I will be getting mine done on Friday. I will be leaving there Monday afternoon if everything goes well!

Mine too! And I am having such a hard time with it. I feel like I forget to eat. Ugh, some days I feel so low on energy because of it. I have a hard time eating greens all day long. I make sure I get at least 2 protein shakes a day in, sometimes half a can of soup, a little jello. In one of my protein shakes I put spinach in, and I eat celery during the day. But other than that it is hard to eat much else. How are you doing on it?

I need some help. I am so nervous about making this decision. I have been doing a lot of research and these are the 2 final places I have decided to have my procedure done. Can anyone give me some experience or advice for either place? I am the type of person that has to be 100% sure...I am just so nervous. Thanks.
