Hi, I just thought I would do a status check. How is everyone doing? Is everyone on their 3rd fill yet? I guess technically I am on my 3rd fill. 1st fill ok, 2nd fill under revision surgery, then an unfill immediately after. Now I just got my "3rd" fill this week. And let me tell you that I am restricted like a mofo!!!! I can only eat a few bites of anything. It's ridiculously small portions but I like it. I also have started spinning classes at the gym and I love them!!! I must admit I have been a little dissapointed in the slow weight loss for me. But, I had an unusual problem and was unrestricted for a long time and had to go back through surgery, so hopefully the weight will start falling off now!!

I am an apple so the # 1 place I lose weight is in my butt and legs. I look like a giant lollipop/popsicle bc my legs have gotten so skinny and my center is so thick! My pants are all way baggy in the but and legs, but snug on the waist. Remember that Sir Mix-a-lot song "Baby got back"? He raps "little in the middle, but she got much back" Well my version is "Thick in the middle, ain't got much back" I sing it all the time, lol. Eventually I have to lose weight in my center...right?

stefanie, 38 miles?!! Where do you bike? Everytime I think about it, I fear someone will just run me over. It was a beautiful day yesterday wasn't it?! Sunday is supposed to be even warmer! BTW, do we pm you our weekly cardio/rt? If it's for 1/6/08, do I include 1/6 in the total minutes?

Hi Nadeane, You will really LOVE Wise Regional. That's where I ended up having my surgery becuase of my insurance. It was quite a hike for me at about a 1 hour drive, but the facilities are great. The nurses are sweet and everything is really clean. Good luck!

So glad you got approved!! My, my you have a way with words! lol

I was just lamenting today at how stubborn my belly fat it. I am so thick in the middle, classic apple. I was joking with my husband that I look like a popsicle or lollipop when I watch myself work out in the mirror. My legs are so skinny compared to my midsection, its ridiculous. The only places I seem to lose weight is my butt and my legs.

I think you look good in all of them. You go girl!

100lbs!!! YAHOOOOOO! I hope to be as successful as you at 1 year! -
Your dr really shouldn't charge you at all. My dr paid for everything and told me that if got a bill or copay, to let him know. It's not your fault...it's his and he should have some type of warranty on his work.

That is so bizzarre...sorry, I don't know what it could be.

Husband says I am addictedt to lapbandtalk!
TulipStar replied to juliegeraci's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yeah right...he can't say anything because he spends just as much time (if not more) on CAR message boards! BORING! -
Jason's Deli has a wide variety of soup available every day. It was the first "restaurant" I went to eat at after I was on mushies. After being on liquids for a week, the chedder broccoli soup I had that day was like heaven! It is creamy and the broccoli is blended in.

Stapled, Stitched, or Glued???
TulipStar replied to Poopsie's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
glue and dissolvable stitches -
It was surgery under full anesthesia. He re-opened my original scar, removed some scar tissue, removed the port (it disconnects) and put a new port in and stitched it to my muscle. I was discharged from the hospital about 2 hours after the procedure and the recovery time was way faster. It only took me about 3 days before I could go back to work. The pain was much less. I don't have little ones, so it might be hard for you. I was really careful not to do any bending or lifting lest I pull my port again! If you want more info, you can PM me.

WOW!! That is awesome! You are doing great. It looks like all of us are doing pretty good. I am in a "learning curve" right now and still trying to eat really slow so that I don't PB.

I have a 10cc band. 1st fill - 5 cc's 2nd fill was under surgery when he had to fix a flipped port - 7 cc's which was too tight so I had to go for an unfill which put me at 4.5 cc's. 3rd fill - 5.5 cc's and I feel pretty tight. I can only eat certain foods and I can't eat anything except for hot oatmeal in the morning. Any meat I try to eat, it's only 3 bites and I am done. I go for my 4th fill next week!

Hi Does anyone go to the after-support groups by Lapband Solutions? They have the January meeting tomorrow on Jan 3 at 7 and I was wondering if it is worth going to.
-
Yes, I noticed that last night! They were all wearing the wrist band. I carry it with me, but don't wear it on my wrist. I also read on the Apex message boards that TBL contestants work out an average of 3 hours a day. Wow, there is no way I can compete with that and that's why I don't lose 10lbs a week!

WOW! That is Awesome!! Congratulations!!!!

My port flipped. I had revision surgery on Nov. 28th. My surgeon said it was his fault, not mine.

Clothing fitting differently/buying new styles? (Low-rise is strange!)
TulipStar replied to hlyndes's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I prefer a mid-rise. There is just something about seeing everyone's coin slot or muffin top in those low-rise that grosses me out. But I have a muffin top in just about anything I wear (at least when I sit down). Have you noticed that high-rise is now back in style....only about another year before low-rise is totally out.<!-- google_ad_section_end --> -
I love to snack. All day long. That has always been my problem. The key is removing the items that you are weak for. During Christmas there were all these CC Cookies around.... I couldn't resist and everytime I was alone with those 6 dozen cookies I grabbed a couple. <shame> eating in secret again!!

I had a tummy tuck 4 years ago and just got the lapband 3 months ago. I had no problems...my scar from the TT is way low and the lapband scars are pretty high. The part that I was worried about it them going through my belly button to inflate the gas bc my "new" bb is almond shaped and deep. I thought they would have problems, but they didn't have any problems. My weight gain since my TT is all in my upper stomach now and my back and butt. I had lose over 100lbs when I got my TT in 2003 and I was like "I am never going back" and of course I gained 80 lbs back. I am on my way back down!
