I have plantar fascitis. I am not sure about the curves routine, but as long as it's not weight bearing for too long it should be ok. I would think that you could ride stationary bike/elliptical.

I used to have heartburn all the timer prior to surgery. I haven't had it once since I had the lapband. The other side effect (besides weight loss) that I have is bruising. I bruise more easily but think this is because I am deficient in something. I take Vitamins every day... Oh and another side effect is unwanted attention from opposite sex/same sex people. lol

WHY? Do I hate myself so much?
TulipStar replied to Mrs SmartyPants's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I know how you feel. Most of us have some reason emotionally why we eat to stuff our feelings. Instead of feeding yourself, "feel" yourself and ask how you are feeling. Be nice to yourself. I would seek out counseling with someone who has experience in eating disorders. I did and it has helped me tremendously! -
Does drinking wine "burn" going down?
TulipStar replied to Lisa99's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I don't have the burning sensation. I drink wine about once a week. -
For me the full feeling is like "ugh I can't move and I can't eat another bite". Although it does feel a little different than before. Also, I get this full feeling from just a couple bites.

I joined Shapes today! Anyone else workout there?
TulipStar replied to LynneB's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I belonged to Shapes for 5 years when I lived in FL. I did like it there but I realized that their classes are only as good as the teachers. My favorite classes there were the step aerobics and kickboxing. -
Ok, so I was in Finland last week (AKA: Home of the sauna) and my work team and I did a "traditional Finnish sauna" as a team building experience. What an exhilirating experience! I truly does think that it rids your body of impurities and can help you lose excess water weight. At first it was so hot I didn't feel like I could stand it, but then it was ok. You do cycles where you leave the sauna and take a cold shower or swim and then go back in the heat. It gets your blood flowing. It was pretty awesome.

Treadmill VS Elliptical
TulipStar replied to bandster_1007's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I like both. The key to the elliptical is you get what you pay for. -
allheart, I just went to an orthopedic surgeon for my knees and he didn't even weigh me...didn't tell me that I was fat. He just evaluated my situation and told me to avoid high impact exercises. He said that I could do the stationary bike, swimming, walking or the elliptical.

After you lose the weight..then what?
TulipStar replied to Archer's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I often wonder about this. When my dr first gave me my eating instructions of 1,000 calories each day and 50 grams of protein she then immediately said "You won't have to eat like this forever, just until you get to your goal weight". The beauty of getting unfilled is that you have the band as a backup in case you need some restriction again. -
Carrabas - soup Outback Steakhouse - Potato soup, sweet potatoes, veggies, couple bites of my hubby's protein A Chinese Restaurant - won ton soup, couple bites of chicken Applebees - soup, chips & queso, mini sundae dessert Macaroni Grill - soup, couple bites of husbands entree Red Robin - chili, french onion soup, chips & queso Ruby Tuesday - soup, salad bar Wendy's - chili, baked potato McDonalds - don't eat here anymore but if I did, probably would try a salad. Chick F La - don't eat here anymore but I tried a salad once but couldn't eat the chicken. Panera's - soup! I love their soup. I can also eat turkey from a sandwich (no bread) Atlanta Bread Company - soup, salad Subway - soup, salad w/tuna Can you Eat Pizza? NY Style. Nope, can't eat it. Sometimes I can eat a 1/2 slice of very thin pizza

TulipStar replied to hazE24's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Sorry, lol, but yes, that would be it. You should try to up your Fiber. They have chewable fiber tabs and also some fiber/protein bars. -
surgical glue and steri-strips on the skin. In the inside (to stitch band and port) he used dissolvable stitches at first then when I had revision surgery he used real stitches to re-attach my port. Good luck!

PBing and Sliming and Vomiting, Oh My.....
TulipStar replied to Allison's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I always hate vomit before too. Yes, I still think it's worth it!!! You will learn very quickly to change your habits so that you don't eat too fast or eat the wrong thing. Basically you will do what you can to avoid the PB's. Good luck! -
I often feel this way. Only eat when you are physically hungry. When you are head hungry ask yourself why and what you are really feeling and deal with it.

Is it possible to have restriction without fills?
TulipStar replied to LiseSeattle's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It's normal not to have restriction before fills. It's what is referred to as "bandster hell"...the time from your surgery until you get proper restriction. I had my first fill 4-5 weeks from surgery.
