  1. I used to wear skirts all the time, but then when I got heavier I stopped bc they were too uncomfortable. I started to wear them again now and I love them!

    Twinges

I think what you are describing is what is often referred to as "zingers". It might be like a little jolt of pain/uncomfortableness. I had this for up to 8 weeks post op and then they stopped. It has to do with nerves/muscle.

    Dr. John Marsden??

Yeah he is good. He is a very good surgeon, that's why I chose him. He is part of the LBS/AIGB/True Results network and all after care is handled through them instead of him.

    Pin up Shoto Shoot??

Holy moly you look awesome! I love your pic on the banner.... so much better than the apple girl!

    birthday

Yesterday was my birthday. We did a lot of stuff that wasn't focused around food. We went to a musuem, shopping. Oh and the day before I gave myself a good 2.5 hour workout as a birthday present.

Freaking out a little (clothing purge)

I have the same stress of parting with my clothes. I love my clothes...took great care in making perfect outfits and knew exactly what to wear when I wanted to look good. It's no surprise this is happening to you as it is many of us!

    Does it hurt?

Yeah, it hurts. It's major surgery :rolleyes2: But, it's not THAT bad. You will be on pain meds and sleep a lot. After day 3 -5 post op is when I was really feeling better. Most of my pain was in the port area from the muscle. It was hard to sit down, get up (Anything that uses ab muscles). I haven't had a baby yet, so I can't compare birth to the surgery experience :smile2:
  8. It was after my 3rd to 4th fill. Hard to say exactly because I had to have revision surgery for flipped port right around then and have some fluid removed.
  9. You probably didn't mess anything up, but you could. Everytime you feel like going to the fridge to snack, stop yourself and ask yourself what you are really feeling (bored, stress, etc.) and then focus something else. It's tough to break old habits!!

    port site pain

    it's normal :rolleyes2:

    Eat or not to Eat???

I think there is another post somewhere called "Is the band a fickle bitch?" and that would describe your problem :rolleyes2: It is fickle and sometimes just when I think I have it figured out, it does a 180 and I can eat something I don't think I should. Now the pattern seems to be I can eat anything after 6pm, but nothing really before.
  12. You might be able to pull it off. I was out for 6 days. I think the most challenging part for me was that I felt so tired, my body was drained of energy.
  13. I waited 6 days to drive. I was having a lot of pain and couldn't even lower myself down in the car. If you feel like you can do it, I would do it as long as you are not on pain meds.

Did you have weight problems as a child?

Yes, 130 lbs when I was 7 years old. 200 lbs at 10. I often wonder how life would have been different if I was "normal weight".

    Tell me a story...

It has practically improved every area of my life and I am only half way to goal. I am totally more confident. Sex life is better, because I feel better about myself. I feel like I could go for that next promotion because I don't feel self conscious about being fat. I can fit in any booth in any restaurant. I can sit in any chair and not have to worry if it's too weak to hold me. I can easily fit in a rollercoaster seat. I guess it has just taken a lot off my mind of worrying about being fat and accomadations for me. I stopped taking blood pressure medication. I dont' take any meds now. My overall outlook on life has really improved. Oh and last week I was at costco and they had pants there that fit me... that is a first! The list goes on and on and on....

    Is it just a coincidence?

I think it's just a coincindence. I haven't been sick since my surgery 7 months ago.

    longest time with lapband

I don't have any specific information but my Dr. told me that in Australia there are many people who have had it a long time...around 14-15 years.
  18. I guess I have never been completely unfilled, but I remember right after surgery when I had the lapband and barely any fill. I could pretty much eat anything, but just had to take it slower because I could feel that it was slower going down.

had restriction now lost it! helps

It could be a difference in Fluid in your body or maybe you lost some fat around the band during your pregnancy? I have been filled too tight before and then the next time I get up to that fill level, it is too loose. the cc is only a number, and unfortunately it depends on a lot of other things going on in your body. I would ask your Dr. office if they can call you if there is an opening. Tell them its important. Call them every day and ask if there have been cancellations. (My dr office is usually 2-5 weeks lead time for fills so I know how frustrating this can be!!)

    What does it feel like?

Restriction is a different thing for everyone. For me restriction is very evident when I eat small bites and I can feel it go down slowly. I have to be cognizant of my eating and take it slow or else it will try to come back up. Liquids should go down easy and fast. I don't feel the band unless I am eating or I am full.
  21. Everyone looks so good! Here are a couple pics. There are a couple more in my blog. Before: November 2007 Current: Today (down 75lbs)
  22. I have 5 huge yard trash bags full of clothes that are too big for me. Sadly, some still have the tags on them. What do you all do with your old clothes???

    Bodybugg users report here!

Did you get 2 straps in your box? I have a large strap and a medium size strap. You can buy a medium size strap from the myapex site. They don't have a size small.

    UHC Choice plus-won't cover?

Appeals work even if its not on the list. I have appealed something twice and was approved (one was considered cosmetic). Boredryu -- For my UHC plan all doctors at LBS are covered. However, your plan may be different. You might want to use UHC online too to check if their dr's are covered? You'll need documented weight 5 years back, so that includes 2003 too. LBS does everything for you, which makes it easy. Waiting is the worst part!
  25. Oh yeah, definite difference! For one...just the guys who hold doors open for me and stuff and general attentiveness from employees when shopping. I really notice a difference when I travel for work by the way the flight attendants treat me...security staff at the airport...pretty much everyone!!! Also, someone at work has been paying a lot of extra attention to me all of a sudden....and told me I was "sexy". I was like "what?". No one have EVER called me sexy before! lol I told my husband...he doesn't like it, but notices I get more attention now too since I am as OhJuli says, "regular fat".
