Nov 2013 Sleevers Progress So Far...

sleeved 11-18 down 42lbs since surgery. I had my gallbladder out on 12-27. I am nowwalking 25-40 daily and weight/resistance every other day. I have 4 mini meals (MEAT #1 priority),and 2 -30gram protein shakes (vanilla premier protein from costco) every day plus all my vitamins. I suck at getting my water in but do try. I am about 1/2 cup volume of food fitting in my sleeve, I love Lucern Greek Mouse! 10 grams protein in 4.5 ounces-the chocolate. the carmel, raspbery and strawberry only have 9g protein. My nut says yes it is worthy and it is 1 of my meals every day. I also like weight control instant oatmeal from quaker and add a tablespoon on crunchy peanutbutter although i usually cant eat it all, Two turkey sausage patties and a swallow of applesauce is a typical meal or 1 slice lunchmeat with 1/2 cheese stick and 2 snap peas.
  4. I have fineally started the weight lifting/resistance training as of a week ago Monday. I am very sore, but happy to be able to build my muscles back up. I am a wimp after 3 surgeries. This is temporary and will get better.

    So bored by food

I like to mix canned chicken with reoasted bellpepper hummus by Sabra and eat it with a few carrot slices( the precut one that have ridges. Extra protein, fiber and flavor.

    Protein bars

Quest bars are great. My GNC store always has them buy 3 get one free. White chocolate raspberry and Chocolate Brownie are my faves. !& grams of protein tastes better in a bar then Metamucil sludge :-)

    GALLBLADDER QUESTION

You do not want to mess around with a gallbladder. I had pain like you are experiencing for a year prior to surgery and was misdiagnosed as having pulled the muscles between my ribs by lifting my son. 3 1/2 weeks after sleeve the pain increased from a 3 to a 7 and then hung out at an 8 for several hours.(10 being natural childbirth, 9 dislocating my hip). It turned out I had a gallstone over an inch across, and that would never go away on its own. It did set me back as I had it removed when I was 5wks out from sleeve surgery, but I am 4 weeks since removal and am truely grateful to not have that pain again. Iai am just now getting back into my routine of walking every day and have no stamina yet, but am working on it and getting better every day. I do have 2 BMs a day as apposed to once a day or every other day, and am rarely constipated now. It took awhile to be able to eat fatty stuff, and I notice I am prone to diarhea after say sausage and cheese, but no other difficulties so far. Don't wait, have that sucker taken out. I'm glad I did!
  8. So I had my gallbladder out on December 27th. A minor bump in my road. I feel much better. I had a 1 inch gallstone stuck in my gallbladder.

  9. gallstones?!?! I dont want another surgery!!!

It happens a lot with weight loss surgery. I had mine out last year this time it was an easy recovery compared to the band

my doctor put me on medication for preventing gallbladder disease.

  10. i have been having off and on pain on my right side that got real bad on Sunday so I called PSSC and spoke with on call doc. he said it sounds like gallbladder and I need an ultrasound. I got one today and hopefully will know soon. it's not a big deal to pssc people, but it is to me cause I'm in pain.

  11. I got Swanson tortilla soup flavored broth and loved the unflavored Unjury in it. Its fine if it's hot enough to leave your finger in it...dont use it too hot. This was also excellent with a little refried beans when I moved to the next step. Also the chicken flavored injury was awesome in instant mashed potatoes. My nut suggested that one.
  12. Longing for a decent walk. 2 weeks post op and doing well :-)

Glad you are doing great. I know it seems like a long time now - but before you know it you will be walking, jogging, whatever you want. The time flies from 6 weeks on.

Nov 2013 Sleevers Progress So Far...

Sleeved 11-18 and started on mushies today ye ha!! I did discover that my tastes are changing, like clam chowder is yucky and I am crazy for Beans.. chocolate is not so lovely any longer- oh well. i will morn it a little and get over it. My real issue is that I am very frustrated with my loved ones who mean well. They are constantly telling me to rest or that I am "over doing it". GRRRR I was told if it hurts don't do it. So I don't, but I am starved for exercise. How am I gonna lose weight and avoid depression if I can't get my endorphin fix? I am going to the mailbox and back and short shopping excursions as well as a little cooking and housework.( I am thrilled to be able to pick stuff off of the floor again. :-) I am doing laps in the house and up and down the stairs cause everyone is afraid that if I fall I could 'BLEED OUT BEFORE ANYONE FOUND ME". My mom and son and friends want to kill me with kindness when what I really want is to take a 1/2 to 1 mile walk. I was up to 2-3 mile walks before surgery and some time on the elliptical. My dog misses our walks too. i MAY JUST SNEAK IN A LONGER WALK NEXT TIME I SAY I AM GOING FOR THE MAIL . Anyone else feel like the activity police are breathing down your neck?
