    Memorial Day Challenge

    162 for today's weigh in. That's -2.4 for the week :-)
  2. I am 7.5 months post op and down 116.4 pounds! I started to get discouraged today because as the numbers get smaller, you don't see those huge changes in your body from month to month. So I thought maybe I should remind myself of where I've started & where I am. I shot this pic after my work out :-)
  3. Totally agree. I love Chike.

YES! I promise it gets better. The first 2 weeks were TOUGH. Just get through it & every day gets better. I actually don't take any hb meds at all now. :-)

    7 Months & 116.4 Pounds

I'm usually between 600-700 calories. I try really hard to stick to no more than 40g carbs, at least 65-70g protein, and at least 10 8-oz waters. I track everything on MFP. My name is livvsmum if you want to add me. All my logs are viewable :-)

Started 'Couch to 5k today' Anyone keen?

Good luck! I'm sure we will both do great! Hopefully there will be some adrenaline working in our favor on race day as well! :-)
  11. I agree with what the others have said. Definitely take your measurements. Do you see a nutritionist at all? Perhaps they could give you some specific information based on your food logs as well.
  12. At 8 weeks post op I had lost 48.8 pounds. I count that from the beginning of the pre-op diet. From the day of surgery at 8 weeks post op I had lost 41 pounds (lost 7.8 during pre-op diet). It's not such I huge difference for me, so I don't split hairs. I just go with the higher number, since it was only 7 pounds difference.

    Hardest thing for you?

Oh I see. Well I think the jury is still out on caffeine. You'll find as many articles saying it's bad as you will saying it's ok. I don't have a problem with it :-)

    I'll show you mine... (LBD's)

You all look completely amazing! Isn't it an awesome feeling!!!??? I remember looking through this thread early on in my process and thinking how amazing it would be to be able to post on here one day in my own "LBD".... well 114 pounds later, I'm going shopping for my very own LBD for an upcoming wedding this month. WHOOOHOOOO! I'll be back with pics when I find it!
  15. Omg!!! That's fantastic, can you please tell me what you think the key to your success is? Any tips would be great, I will be sleeved on May 9th. Thank you! :-) I think the biggest things for me has been (1) knowing my limitations, and (2) sticking to my numbers. I've learned that while some people are fine eating small amounts of "unhealthy" foods now and then, I am not. I was an emotional over-eater/binge eater, and that is just too easy to slip back into. I have to be strict with myself and avoid altogether my trigger foods. Knowing yourself is SO important. It's a total reprogramming. Secondly, sticking to my numbers involves tracking my food. I count everything on myfitnesspal. My username is livvsmum if you want to friend me. I make all my food logs viewable. I try my best to stick to no more than 40g of carbs, at least 65-70g of Protein, and at least 10 8-oz glasses of Water per day. When I do that consistently, I see a loss. I also think exercise is super important, but that will be down the road a bit for you :-) Good luck to you, and trust me....if I can do it and be successful, anyone can!!! lol

    Hardest thing for you?

I think the hardest thing for me has not been a specific food or anything like that, that I've had to give up. For me I think the biggest struggle has been in finding new ways to deal with my stress and my urge to engage in emotional and stress eating. It's something I deal with every.single.day. and probably will forever.

Started 'Couch to 5k today' Anyone keen?

Checking in. I got to the end of week 5 and felt like the intervals were distracting me. I decided one day just to run and forget about the app and see how long I could run. I ran 25 minutes uninterrupted, which was way longer than the 8 or so I was getting through at one time with the app. So, I felt pretty good about that and skipped ahead on the app to week 7 day 3, which for my app, is running 25 minutes. So hopefully within a couple of weeks I should be at the full 5K. Then I need to start transitioning to running outside instead of the treadmill. My 5k is June 1st, so I feel pretty good about getting this done! :-) Not sure why I do better running uniterrupted than with the intervals.....anyone else feel this way or experience this?

    Hunger Pains

I am 7 months post op now & would say that I don't experience hunger the way I did before. Now it's more of just an empty feeling than a feeling of hunger. Also I've learned to better distinguish between hunger & thirst. A lot of the times you "think" you need to eat, you are thirsty. Finally I will be honest & say the first couple of weeks I dealt with head hunger, but it was really just me needing to work through the emotional loss of my coping mechanism- food! Sometimes if I'm experiencing a lot of stress I'll notice head hunger, but it is easy to push past.
