Good morning and good riddance to 5 more, 215 this week! -
I used the Six star chocolate from Walmart, but never found vanilla I liked. I had some Medifast shakes left over from the pre-op that I boosted with Isopure unflavored. I use the unflavored in everything now. I just started adding fruit back into the diet, looking forward to some baked apples. I think I am going to need a support group with the holidays approaching. Always a food fest everywhere I go. If they aren't eating, they are drinking! I am hoping to stay gluten free until all of the weight comes off, fingers crossed! Green with envy on the doughnuts!

Surgery was on Monday, don't remember much from that day. I was very out of it from the anethesia. Home Tuesday by 5, after walking many laps around the hospital. Pain was minimal, felt like I did 1,000 crunches - just sore! Down 70 total, 33 since surgery. It has been much easier to avoid temptation now that I have benn sleeved. Still in the "honeymoon" phase, and that is fine. Pre-sleeve I would be eating all of the cider doughnuts in the area. I really can't wait to have a salad again. One more month!

I was beginning to think I was the only one here! Doing great on this end. I have really had no issues or complications. I went through the "three week stall" and came out unscathed. Steadily dropping, with no hunger and no food issues. I'm glad you are excited, you're like 9 days away! Anxious.....yup, been there too. I just wanted the surgery over so I could start this journey. This has been life changing for me, even at just shy of 2 months post-op. This site has been a Godsend, my life line to the sleeved world. I am so excied for you!

OMG stall......still holding at 220. -
I gained 15 from the time I decided to the day of my first consult. Surgeon required 10% loss for surgery and I started lean and green the day after. I lost 27 in the 2 1/2 months prior to surgery. My food funeral came one week prior to my surgery. I was on vacation and ate ( and drank) what I wanted for one day. I regretted it. Felt lousy after. Didn't realize how badly the carbs and crap affected me. Turned around and lost 8 during the remainder of the week. And I never looked back. Something clicked over the past few months that made me want to stay on track. I didn't want to fail at this. It is really my last option.....if it doesn't work, then what? The food funeral was a bad idea in hindsight. It was my last chance to flip off the world, but it wound up biting me in the rear in the end. Thank God my liver was okay for the surgery, but that would have set me back another month or more. It will click, you mind goes from "can I" to "I can". If you only have a one or two week pre-op diet requirement it may not happen until the day the diet starts. It was also helpful to read that most people on here eat pretty normally once they hit goal, just smaller portions. Best wishes on your journey!

5 1/2 weeks Post-Op update and Struggles
Auntvick replied to Robert Angel's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I make lasagna filling to curb my cravings for carbs. Fat free ricotta, a little tomato sauce, pepper and onions and crumbled turkey. I have even added unflavored protein powder. I blend it with some italian seasoning. Tastes like lasagna with no noodles. Tomato sauce may be rough on some, my NUT said it was alright for me in moderation. -
I told them I was having my gall bladder out, which may or may not happen with the surgery. Since I actually didn't, I will tell them that I have stones in the bile ducts if/when the gall bladder actually goes. It is none of their business, and they violate HIPPA all the time when they gossip about people. Good luck!

New to site! So many questions!
Auntvick replied to TeresaRN's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, and welcome to the site. My sleeve (8/5) has become my tool to lose weight not the reason I lose weight. Meaning, I still have to make the good choices, if I choose poorly, the results will be poor. The plans set forth by your program and NUT will guide you in this journey and help you be successful. Not everyone loses at the same rate, but for the most part they all lose. You will be amazed by some of the stories on here, the tips, the questions and advice. My pre-op required 10%......I weighed 249 day of surgery. I did lean and green- Medifast shakes 2 or 3 times a day and protein and veggies for a meal. Best of luck! -

Oh my myyyyyyy dinner was so good!

Beach Lover, those extra two bites are a killer. I just switched from the baby spoon to grown up silverware and I find it is harder to judge. The baby spoon allowed a little more time for the full feeling to happen. This is such a process, but I really am loving it. -
Congratulations!

So excellent! I can't wait to be there. Went to Dave & Busters tonight (just opened) and had just sides. Not many choices for a sleever 6 weeks out. Managed three broiled shrimp and some zucchini, squash and peppers. By the time I had two shrimp down, the boys devoured their burger and fries. I wasn't sad or missing it though, thought I would. It will be lobster soon!!!!! -
When I get fine I am going to wear a black drop waist tank dress that I bought years ago. It was only worn once ( ok, I only fit in it for a brief moment). I could never get rid of it, it is so cute. I am hoping to "pull off the look" next summer. Check that, I Am Going To!

Your monthly vs. post operation!
Auntvick replied to Pastor Paula Jackson's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My 3rd week post op I stalled for 8 days. Come to find out.....TOM. I started dropping again right after it started. I know now not to get discouraged and just trudge along. -
Best of luck and a speedy recovery!

I just hit 60# and had to get rid of most of my clothes. They fit ok until recently, then they went baggy. Strange. I guess it is different for everyone.
