Will all vary based on your type of plan. My maximum out-of-pocket for the year is $5,700. I met that for sure. All in this year I will probably be around $7,500.

Hard to explain, but curious if anyone else is experiencing/has experienced the same. Best way to describe it is that feeling you get after drinking a ton of lemonade and you throat feels like you have to keep making a gargling action but without any liquid in your mouth. Like its coated in god knows what and you constantly feel like your trying to cough/gag it up. No idea if I just made any sense? If anyone can decipher my crazy description please let me know your thoughts! Think it could be ketosis related ( my breath is deadly so I have to be in it)? Maybe acid (I'm on PPI but might not be enough?)? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you both for the reply! Chinamama, I agree I think a call to my doctor is in order soon. I'm just starting soft foods, so I don't think I'm overheating (frankly I'm scared to eat LOL) but I will still ask the nutritionist to be sure. Bella, yes! I literally go through BUCKETS of Water throughout my work day! I mean, at least we're meeting our water requirements haha! Glad to hear I'm not the only one experiencing this!

5 1/2 weeks Post-Op update and Struggles
Mkak replied to Robert Angel's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi there! I'm obsessed with this blog skinnytaste.com. Her recipes are weight watchers friendly, and they are super easy to throw together (at least the ones I've tried). No crazy ingredients. I'm 5 weeks out, too, and just getting started on food. My Dr. seems ultra conservative with food, but cleared me for exercise with no restriction at one week. Strange, right? Anyways, keep up the good work! -
That's awesome! Congrats!!

Are you 5'8"-5'9" and post- surgery?
Mkak replied to DeterminedGirl's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I am 5'10 and want to get down to 165. Like others have mentioned, this is completely adjustable to how I feel/look when I finally get into the 100s. I started out at 288 and am down to 254. Happy to hear and see about other tall ladies! Would love to keep in touch with everyone to see how we're all progressing! -

3 weeks Pureed food Need Suggestions
Mkak replied to alpleasant's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree, pasta is explicitly listed as a "no-no" on my puréed list. Are you allowed ricotta at this point by your surgeon? If yes, you could just eat the insides with the sauce (assuming they are cheese ravioli). -
While I don't think they are being fraudulent, I do think they are bending the insurance rules a bit. Generally, a provider is not permitted to bill you outside of what the insurance company pays (assuming they are in-network). It looks like they are considering the extra services as outside of the normal care requirements. In a perfect world I would liked to have seen that $1,000 built into your office visit charge, consult charge, surgical charge, etc. What is most likely is going on? They have gotten squeezed by your insurance company (most likely for a few years) to slash their fee and need to make that money up somewhere. The best example of this is to check out your explanation of benefits. 95% of the time the amount the insurance company pays is in excess of 50-60% less than what your doctor submitted as the billed charge. If you like the surgeon and think you will use the services, I would say just bite the bullet and pay the $1K. If you're not sold on him/her, can't hurt to look around a bit more. Best of luck to you!

Looking amazing! Congrats girlfriend! -
LOL your wife sounds like my kind of lady! My "motivator" is a seven month old, four legged terror. So, I feel your pain somewhat haha Good to know about the steps vs. points. The Fuelband has this silly algorithm that is supposed to be a combo of steps, calories burned, and who the heck knows what else. It does track steps, too and boyyyy getting to 10,000 is so hard somedays! Keep up the good work!!
-
Any fellow Nike Fuelbanders out there? If yes, what's your daily goal? I always go back and forth with mine (mainly because I'm a sore loser hehe), so I am curious what others are using? Right now I'm at 3,000, but feel like I should really be bumping it up. Thanks for any insight!
-
Hey Gtny, I'm on the verge of getting get, but trying to use what I've got for a few more weeks! I wonder how the 2 "points" systems compare? If they're similar you are killing it, my friend!
-
I got mine at Whole Foods. I think GNC might carry it, too!

What does 73 pounds down at almost four months out look like?
Mkak replied to LipstickLady's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Lipstick, you are GORG! Congrats X1,000,000 on your success! -
Yep! I usually mix 2 tbsp. with 1 scoop of chocolate Isopure. I think it's about 40-50 calories with 4 grams of protein for the 2 tablespoons. "Cuts" the sweetness of the shake a bit, so it's a nice change

Hi there! I am only a month out, but already having issues like you. Last week was supposed to be TOM, got my usual breakout, cramping, etc., but no period. Immaculate conception #2 would have to be in play if I were prego, so I'm thinking this might just be a side effect? Hope everything goes well with your blood test! Keep us posted!
