Went to my 1 week appointment on Friday and all is well!! Still no issues with anything. It is now 12 days since surgery and 36 lbs lost since Oct 1 and 20lbs since after surgery (Oct 16th). Feeling good but the liquid phase 1 is really boring. Can't wait to get to phase 2 on Thursday. Should have much more variety.

So far so good, update.

Phase 2 is puréed food. And will be on this for 4 weeks. But will be able to eat more a variety of soups (cream of potato, tomato soup, cream of chicken, got back to protein shakes which are great. Then off to testing regular foods on Nov 19!! -
Day 5 tonight and no throwing up, gagging or anything. Only time I had it was the night after surgery. Had dry heaves once and that was before I could start on liquids. Drinking that upper GI syrup crap almost made me puke but I was able to control it. Water has been tasting like metal lately. Tried Poweraide zero today and is not to bad. Also tried chicken noodle soup (just the broth) and that was a great treat! Keeping up on my walking each day seems to be helping cause I can walk longer distances each day. Stopped taking the pain medicine (perkaset) yesterday at 9am. More of just a soreness at the two larger incision area but is getting better each day. Have no problem keeping things down. Sticking with the jello soups Poweraide zero water. Apple juice seems a little strong right now. Maybe if I do half and half. So far so good.

I also had mine on the 16th and am on a 14 day liquid diet. Skim milk, sugar free jello, water, broth, Poweraide zero, decaf tea or coffee. On day 14 I can go on the purée diet but not until then. I have had no problems so far. Sticking to it!! -
Been of the pain meds since yesterday at 9am. Water sucks and taste like metal. Got some flavoring and it is helping. Tried power aid zero and leaves a bad after taste. Broth is good but strong. Tried chicken noodle soup and strained the broth out and love it! A real treat! Jello is good, milk is good. Walked 3 blocks today and feel good! Going to keep increasing the length. Is it really true you get a runny nose when you are getting full? Two weeks prep weighted 331, day of surgery weight was 314, day after was 320. Said that the IV fluids cause that and some people gain up to 10 lbs. appointment Friday for 1st post op appointment.

Also continue to burp most the time when I eat or drink. Will that continue?
