Low protein intake can throw everything off. Protein is the building block for every single cell of your body. If you are protein deficient you will be tired. Long term this is why people lose their hair. Nails become brittle muscles begin to break down. Now with that being said I did not get all of my protein in the first few weeks. It was nearly impossible. I have never been fatigued though. But I also am not doing extremely low carb. I get on average 40-50 carbs a day from milk, fruit and veggies. Have you had any labs drawn from your surgeon?

I ordered a sample pack of the nectar flavors from the company. My favorite so far is the fuzzy navel. I mixed it with peach, orange, mango and pineapple juice and water. So yummy... Also the lemonade with water and throw a few frozen strawberries in the blender. Crystal sky is ehh ok... Caribbean cooler was ok. Very coconutty. Again mixed that with pineapple juice and water. -

Pre-op I drank the RTD EAS carb control shakes. I would stick a straw in them... Drink about half, hold my breath while I stuck some peanut butter or almonds in my mouth. Then I would repeat. Never made me sick, unless I slowed myself to actually taste it. Post-op milk has been my best friend! I never drank milk pre-op. but when it goes you additional protein... I am all about some milk! I also use unjury. Love it! I add Pb2 and it kills the sweetness. Good luck to you!

Holy Crap! This is so me... I used to eat starburst and skittles in the same exact order. From least favorite to most favorite. Never would I eat a handful of skittles at once, because I could not detect the different flavors. Oh.. And the ribeye! I used to cut it all up and save the most tender fat surrounded piece for the very last bite. Did the same thing with shake n bake porkchops.. Crispy fat edges last! It was almost like I had a moment when finally eating my favorite part. It was like I stopped breathing momentarily so I could savor that taste! I am only one month out and my desire for food is still lurking around. I get so excited to eat something new. Then I get the first two bites and I am done with the excitement and I only finish because I know I need the protein! But I will say that is starting to die. Food is not my favorite thing anymore. It is not what my life revolves around.. This is a great feeling, but also very weird at the same time! -
Hey folks! I need some good meatball recipes. I made some tonight and they were really dry. I can no longer drink when's eat so dry food is no good!

Ok ladies... This is what I just threw together with my canned chicken. It taste pretty good and does not have that smell.... 4 oz canned chicken 1 tbsp of each of the following Green pepper Onion Peas and carrots 1 tsp of minced garlic 1/8 cup of canned mushrooms 1 package of chicken gravy ( I kind of guessed at how much of the veggies, I forgot to measure before I added, I am still a newbie.. Please forgive me) I opened the can of chicken and the smell knocked me out! Lol. I drained it and then rinsed it with Water. I then let it soak in some skim milk for about 10 minutes. I added the veggies in a skillet and let them begin to cook. I then added the chicken with some of the skim milk... Maybe 1/8 of a cup and the garlic to the veggies. I added some parsley, onion powder and salt and pepper to taste(not much salt because the gravy has quite a bit). I let the mixture cook down together. In a separate pan I made the packaged chicken gravy according to directions. After the majority of the liquid cooked down in the chicken mixture I mixed everything together. I added everything in my fitness pal and came up with the following... Makes 4 servings Amounts are per serving Calories:69 Fat:1 Carbs:6 Protein:7 Sodium:464( high I know) Potassium: 26 I am sure if you omit the peas and carrots, the carbs will reduce a bit. But for 7 grams of Protein.... I will take it. Plus it helps with my liquid intake.

Zero sugars in the syrup(I forgot to mention it was the zero-calorie syrup, I changed it) 19 sugars total... 12 are from milk and the rest from the banana

I am also a nursing student. So day by day my schedule is never the same. School starts back next week. So I am hoping that having a semi normal schedule will make things better. I will be able to have my lunchbox with me, with choices of food. I am totally excited to eat some real meat! My classes are three hours long. So I would have to take things with me to eat throughout. Being in class for three hours will also help me with drinking my water. I will have a time limit to consume so much of it... I just ordered more unjury. My plan is to drink 2 shakes a day minimum and then fill in with food. Just got to get to that point. Cause right now I am struggling. Thanks for all of your advice.

I am a busy busy mom. When I am handling a daily routine, I am almost able to get in all of my protein. Not getting all my fluids in at all! I just realized that all I have a had all day long is 12 ounces of skim milk and maybe 2tsp of peanut butter, and maybe half a bottle of water. But I can't bring myself to eat most of the time. Especially when I am running a whole lot of errands. Then when I realize that I have not eaten... It is 11pm. And obviously there is no way for me to get what I need. Any suggestions? I am 3 weeks post-op?

I actually like the Unjury. I add pb2 to my shakes. Makes them more tolerable. -

Only once... That was yesterday morning. I took my multi with some Water. I guess it got stuck. I felt like I was going to throw up and even dry heaved twice. I was driving when this happened. I pulled over and got out and circled my car a few times and I was fine after that. Sometimes I can tell they get a little stuck and I just try and drink more to push it down. I do wait a few minutes in between each pill. In that few minutes I continue taking small sips. Just to keep things flowing.
