Do You Still Have Your Gall Bladder?
Jammin & Losin replied to mslynn's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My Gallbladder was taken out 1 month to the day before I had my band surgery. I went in for all my pre op testing to get my band surgery okayed.. and came out with 2 golf ball sized gallstones and a surgery date my gallbladder removed 2 days later!!! I was very disapointed that my surgeon would not do both surgerys ( band and gallbladder) at the same time... but later I thought it over and was glad to not have the worries of complications with the band because of the gallbladder. So for me it was 2 surgerys 1 month apart!!! What an exciting month that was!!!:faint: But now that I'm gallbladder free and down 100 pounds I feel like this!!!! :clap2: :clap2: :high5:   :cheer2: :bounce: -

Can't eat any solids for 9 months...please help
Jammin & Losin replied to singer1's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
As good as my band worked for me.... I hate to hear of anyone having problems with thier band. However if you are not able to get solids down and aren't losing weight something is wrong... PLEASE go to a different Dr... get as many opinions and find out what is causing your problems and get this band fixed or taken out asap before you cause anymore damage!! Good luck and let us know what your outcome is. Good luck in your continued journey!! (((((HUGS)))To you I know the last months have been terrible for you!! -
He said I would get down to 165 and thats where I . Is this it???
Jammin & Losin replied to ladysplenda's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am at 164 down from 265 and I too seem to be stuck. I think somtimes your body just needs time to adjust and also I think in my case I should really evaluate what I am and am not doing.... I seem to comfortable latley and yet I expect the scales to move. I want to get down another 20 or 30 pounds and I know it will take some major work on my part to get there at this point. Those last pounds are always the hardest.. they are so stuborn!! Don't give up and your daughter is doing fine!! Congrats to you both! -
It is never to late to change bad habits and start over... each day is a new opurtunity to reach for your goals in life... start today and call your dr. !!! Wishing you success!!

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (maybe a little XXX)
Jammin & Losin replied to TrishS's topic in The Lounge
Trish there is nothing wrong with LBT as a hobby!! I love it and actually haven't been on much latley and I've missed it. I also have taken up scapbooking... my first one is of my daughters kindergarten year.. I want to go back and do some of her when she was a baby and smaller toddler years. I love taking pictures but some how never have manage to get them in albums or in a photo box. I keep pretty buisy with 2 nieces and my daughter and a full time job and husband... just remember when you all healed up you'll have plenty of places to go!!! Your not on LBT tonight your hubby must be home!!! -
Gosh Paula .. no kidding this is an old thread... I can't believe this was over a year ago and my DH still has a foot that works (THANK GOD) and I still have my band and its working strong!!! That was definatly a rough week... I was in the recliner and there he sat with his foot propped up on a pillow on the coffee table!! My poor momma taking care of both of us.Thank god things are better this week!!!

Well If it isn't bad enough that my DH has been helping me recover from band surgery on Friday. He dropped a very large piece of steel on his toes yesterday and is now on a walking cast. The tip of his big toe is fractured and he has 10 stiches in the big toe and 6 stiches in the toe next to the big toe. They had to call in a Specialist to sew up his toes because it was so severe. His toes actually split open because of the impact. There fore was very hard to put them back together. They removed both toe nails to try to keep down infection and also to stich under them.we are hoping and praying that he will keep blood flow to the big toe and it will heal correctly! He is so upset that he was suppose to be helping me and now is down himself. Thank God my mother lives next door and is giving so much help to us both. She is our sweet little nurse!!! I am so thankful that he didn't get hurt even worse and also that I am getting around a little bit better.i was able to drink a protein drink this AM and it took a couple of hours but I got it down with no problems at all. I am able to go to full liquids now and hope that will go okay. I am having to make my self sit down and not do to much. I just am not up to all of this right now and I can't speed up my own recovery just because this happened. I just feel helpless that I'm unable to help him much and he feels the same way about not being able to help with to much either. My mom is taking my little girl to school this week and will take DH to foot specialist tomorrow morning. Please remember to say a prayer for us that this time will get better for my family!!!

Yes !!! I dieted before banding... I feel like my whole life was a big fat diet that only worked temporarily!!! I love my band and only hope to keep it for along time to come!! As far as right before being banded I did stay on a diet and did lose a few pounds...my dr wasn't one to demand you lose X amount of weight before but it did feel good to get a little jump start and get siked up for my band surgery!!!
-
Well I must say that at 15 months out 100 pounds down and feeling lots better about myself.....AT THIS TIME... I don't regret getting bande. I however have been a very lucky bandster with zero problems in the 15 months I've been banded. I at least hope to get to goal and rush to have plastic surgery hoping that in turn if I am ever unbanded do to complications I will be less likely to gain it back...It is scary to feel this way but after seeing several people lose their bands its something to think about!!!! At my place in my journey I love my band!!! If I could do it over again I would. I feel likemy band has given me the chance to a healthier life!!!

Do you take off your shoes?
Jammin & Losin replied to argon's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
We take our shoes off when we come in to our house...but we live in the country wher out side can get really nasty...dirt and mud and lord knows what else is getting traked in. Most people that I know that live in the country do take off their shoes when they come in and even in their own homes. I think it just depends on where you live. If I lived in a neiborhood with concrete out side (our drive way is gravel) and hard wood floorsin side I would probably leave mine on...but since my neighbor has dogs that rome freely and my other neighbor has horses...I sure hope he takes his shoes off before coming in my house LOL!! I do how ever respect peoples homes and take into consideration if I need to take my shoes off before entering! -
How much water do you drink
Jammin & Losin replied to Barb's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I drink any where between 48 and 64 oz of water a day...so I guess if I drink anything else like crystal light I 'm getting in plenty!!! Some days I do better than others but I do try to drink water first thing..thats what gets me on schedule with it the rest of the day! -
Penni~ I'm so sorry you have been so frustrated and going through such a hard time. you look beatiful and your attitude about all of this is great. I can deffinatly see that you look and feel better even after all of the stuff with your band. keep heading in the right direction...each day is a new one and you can continue to make a new step each day that will help your health. You are awsome and should feel good about your self!!! I also like your hair shorter! (((HUGS)))
