Some questions I have...Please answer...
Jammin & Losin replied to Lisa Marie C's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
1. How long were you out of work?I was off work 1 week! I think it depends on what type job you have. But I would say at least one week and you will be feeling better. 2. Explain to me what getting "stuck" feels like. The stuck feeling is like a bad pressure in your chest. you feel all most like you are going to throw up but you don't... eventually the stuck food will go down but it could take a few minutes.Deffinatly not a pleasent experience, but deffinatly one to learn from!!! 3. How soon after surgery can you begin to excercise? My Dr. said I could start excersising after 2 weeks. (definatly walk alot after surgery because it will help with the gas pressure)! He said just don't lift anything and also dont do anything extra vigorous.( ask your Dr. he may have his own guidelines) 4. Were you afraid to eat after the surgery? Not afraid to eat just cautious. the first 6 weeks you will be easing your way back to regular food. So that helps to know what your stomach can tolerate and what it can't cause you start of slow and then work your way back up to solids. Right after a fill can be tricky, so you have to start off slow with that too. Maybe liquids for a couple days, then mushys and so on. And as I'm finding out it could take a few days to a few weeks for a fill to KICK in so you will have to make a permanent habit of eating small bites and chew really well. 5. If you have a spouse/significant other.. How did they handle your weight loss?My husband and fammily have been so great through all of this and as a matter of fact when my mom gets medical Ins. that will cover the band she is looking into getting banded her self. My husband is so happy that I'm getting healthier and I feel like I'm setting a good example for my family as well because they are eating better too!! -
Christina I know you have been waiting for this moment for a long time. You will definatly love your band and I think you made the best choice!!! Yippi!!!!! Your finally getting your band and June 3rd is just around the corner!!!!!

Okay guys I've been trying to figure out this crazy fill and I'm not getting anywhere by myself..... I need some help! I got a fill 3 weeks ago..I felt I could tell a difference immediatly.I even had a couple episodes with the stuck feeling at first. Then I felt like I was being able to eat more as each day went by with out getting the stuck feeling. like maybe the first restriction was from swelling after the fill or something. Now WAME!!!! everything I've eaten yesterday and today has gotten stuck... Even very soft potatoes cooked in the crock pot with a roast!!! I'm not sure what is going on its like 3 weeks from the time I got my fill and it kicked in or something. Could a fill take this long to kick in??? Any suggestions?

Need help with this fill!!!
Jammin & Losin replied to Jammin & Losin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
haven't called Dr. yet. I figure I'll give it a few days and see if I get any better. -
Oh you don't want this to happen but once then its OMG how can I keep this from happening!!! LOL!! Pb stands for productive burp! You get this really bad tight feeling in your chest then the next thing you know your not sure if you are going to burp or throw up!! Well then you kinda gag and you feel like your saliva gets slimy and then it comes up. Almost like a mini throw up. This usually happens when you didn't chew well enough took to big of a bite.

Need help with this fill!!!
Jammin & Losin replied to Jammin & Losin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My cycle isn't for another 2 weeks. So I don't think thats it yet! But good point I guess you could have some Fluid retition and swelling so that makes since that you could have more restriction around that time. Also I did Pb late yesterday after noon but saturday I was getting the stuck feeling and that was before I had the pb??? So I'm confused on that one. I've had a Protein drink this morning so maybe it will settle me down today! I'll try just the liquids and see if that helps!. The good thing is I weighed this morning and I've lost 2 more pounds for a total of 21 down since surgery and 34 total!!! I'm so excited Now if I can get this fill figured out I'll be doing good!! Thanks for the suggestions!! Thanks to J. Lynn and you too Betty! I'll do liquids today and see if that helps. Also will be extra careful to chew well Thanks for the help!!! -
Paula you look great!!! great price on your new outfit too!! Your little boy is a cutie!!

Jammin & Losin replied to Jammin & Losin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Just do like I did when I was a little girl.... paint every nail a different color!!! LOL!!!! -
I've always been a nail biter.... but I've noticed that since I got banded, I'm not biting my nails anymore!!!! I'm really not sure why I feel like the band is what made me quit but it has! I guess I've been worried I'd swallow a piece of finger nail or something! Any body else not biting thier nails since banding??

Questions before I get banded
Jammin & Losin replied to a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Joe This is 8th week since banding and being able to sleep on my stomach has been no problem! As far as laying on the hard ground that might be uncomfortable depending on where your port is located.I would ask my Dr. and tell them what type work you do. This might get them to be careful with how they place your band. I think the easiest way to get around the band is drinking while eating and also drinking high calorie liquids. These two things will deffinatly slow/stop your weight lose! It is very important to drink 1-2 hours after each meal and also to always drink liquids that don't contain calories. Speaking for my port I can't see mine when I'm looking in a mirror ... but I can lay on my back and feel it very well!!! It does not get in my way and I can do anything that I could before banding! I would say the band is a great tool for almost any age. I feel it is a great tool that when used properly can help lots of health issues and I have deffinatly heard of people older than your mom getting the band and have done great with it!!! Good luck to you on getting your band and also to your mom!!! May you both regain lots of health from this wonderful band!! -
band me soon~ Good luck to you on getting your band and having a speedy recovery!!!
