Christina I could finally sleep on my stomach about 3 weeks after being banded. I had to sleep in the recliner for the first week after. Its hard to get any rest when you can't get comfortable. Hope each day you get feeling better. I just so happy your in band land!!!!

Glad you got a fill without any problems. Just take it easy and chew things up really good. You never know when that fill will kick in and cause you to get that stuck feeling. Watch out for bread/ dry meats/ ect.. Hope you start losing some weight with the fill.

Looks like you are doing great. Don't get obsessed withthe scales. It is hard for me not to get up every morning and weigh but I'm trying not too!!! HEHE!!! keep up the good work. -
Christina I'm sorry to hear you are having some problems. Just consentrate on getting in enough liquids. Calories will come later. I hope your bruising gets better and call the Dr. back if you feel something isn't right... DON"T WAIT!!! Question him and get a second opinion if you feel it is needed.

What foods do you find difficult to eat?
Jammin & Losin replied to aileena's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have problems with: Broccoli(Even cooked really soft it gives me problems) Bread/rolls( BIG NO NO) chicken/turkey (if it is to dry) some french fries(if they are hard) Cake( ate 3 bites and thought I'd die) Brownie(ate 1 bite thought I'd die(too gooey) So far thats what bothers me. These are foods that will make me get the stuck feeling or BP. Its funny cause I have no problems with steak/salad/vegtables as long as they are soft. I can even eat those bad soft tortilla shells. I think I'm going to get a slight fill in a couple weeks . I need to add some more foods to my can't eat list!!! LOL!!!! -

Flower~I can deffinatly understand how you feel about telling your mom and her being upset except the person I had a problem with my mother in law. I called and told her after I had scheduled the surgery date and only about 3 weeks before . Her reply was well thanks alot for including us in this decision you have made on your own!!!! I went off!!! I told her that this was a decision that only I my self could make and that I was including her in "MY" decision and that I felt she should know what that decision was but that I didn't want to try and explain what I was doing until I had decided for my self! I wanted no one elses opinion to keep me from doing what I felt was best for me. She said well I know I'm not your mother but you should have told me sooner. Anyway she got over it but has since made a few coments pointing out that I should have said something sooner and that she just hopes I don't have problems later and that she hopes I made the right desision. Well anyway we are going to see her in a couple weeks and I hope she will say SOMETHING positive about the 40 pounds I've lost since researching and getting banded!! I just don't think that some people understand how hard it is to make a decision to have WLS unless they are in you shoes!!!

Desertmom~ I would have to say go with your instinct that something is wrong. If you are having pains often that are worrying you then you should deffinatly call and see a Dr. On the stuck feeling some of that is probably because you are not chewing well enough or eating to fast. This feeling does happen with bandsters. I have problems with bread and some times if meat is to dry it will get stuck. So this feeling is probably normal. To avoid this eat slower and chew realy well. But the other symptoms your having please see a dr. ASAP. It could be nothing but you should still not ever be afraid to tell your dr when something is wrong!!! Good luck and I hope you find out if there is something to be alarmed at or if you just need a little more time to heal. GOOD luck.

I took a week off after my band surgery. It took that long to start getting some strength back... don't rush the healing process. If you are in a position that you can take at least a week or two you shoul. You need time to heal and it will be hard going back to work on liquids only.I was very sore for about 3 or 4 days and after that I got better really quick. I had my band done locally Memphis Tn. about 20 miles from where I live, but there are alot of people that have gone to Mexico and have done great. It depends on what your pay situation is and what will be better for you for your follow up care which is very impotant. There are lots of old posts that have info on recovery /fills/food/ ect... just stay awile and read up on some of these subjects it will answer alot of your questions. Use the search box to locate a certain subject you are interested in. I wish you lots of luck in your reasearch and with getting your band.
