It is such a big puzzle that sometimes fitting all the pieces together can be a daily challenge. Thanks for sharing. P.S. I WILL NOT BE TRYING THE chicken AND PEANUTBUTTER SANDWICH!!!! LOL!!!!

    When do you get hungry?

Trish~ I usually start drinking Water first thing in the morning. I drink about 20 oz on the way to work. Then at work I eat breakfast around 9:00. I can't seem to eat before that.Usually for breakfast I will have a Protein shake or some turkey and low fat cheese or some yogurt. Something small. Then I start drinking water a couple hours after breakfast and then I eat lunch at 1:00 . Then I drink water later in the afternoon and finish getting at least 64 oz in for the day. I usually eat dinner around 6:30. I think I get hungrier inbetween lunch and dinner but If I have a snack I pick a healthy one. I really try hard not to snack and sometimes I think it is just the mental hunger and not that I'm really hungry. At night sometiomes is hard cause my hubby likes sweets and he eats junk sometimes but I keep low fat fudge bars in the freezer for the occasional sweet. It is such a puzzle sometimes remembering to wait so long after meals to drink and trying to not eat if you aren't really hungry. It is hard sometimes to listen to your body and to stay in a routine. Getting in your water and if you must eat between meals picking healthy Snacks really does help you lose weight and feel satisfied in doing so.

When Can I Get My First Fill!

My first fill was at 6 weeks post op. I deffinatly needed one and had been at a stand still for a couple weeks. I got a fill and started losing again. I just got my second fill at 3 months post op and can really tell a difference in my restriction level. If you are hungry all the time you should call your dr and see if they will fill you even if it is justy a small fill it could help to get that weight lose going again.... But like Paula said sometimes you lose inches and the scale doesn't show it but your clothes sure do. just try and mantain right now and get in for a fill as soon as your dr feels comfortable with giving you one. Good luck!!!

    Fills and vacation???

I had no problems with my first fill. I did liquids that day. The next day I was eating regular foods again....but you never know how your fill will be and it depends on how much of a fill your get. I just had my second fill and had probelms for several days getting use to what I could tolerate and had a copuple pb's ect.. so I guess what I'm saying is everyones different and you might want to wait till you get back just to be on the safe side. You will enjoy yourself so much more if you aren't having to worry about something not agreeing with you. Go on vacation and have fun... then come back and get that fill.

    stuck on everything?

Vinesquenn~ Yeah sometimes you just get that awfull pain and in a few minutes it goes away... but other times it gets worse and it must come up.It sounds like to me you just got something stuck really bad but it is good that it went on down... way better than it getting worse and coming up. I love broccoli but I guess I'm just to fiiled to eat it. It seems to always give me trouble so I just don't eat it. Hope your doing better and won't have any bad stuck or pb episodes for a while!!

    Chewing gum

I chew gum alot since I got banded. I usually chew sugar free gum after I eat. It helps my mouth not be dry since I wait an hour or so to drink after a meal. . I'm very careful not to swollow it!

lovecats85~ I have Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield and they approved me for lap band with out any problems. I know your ins might be different than mine but you might be surprised if you check with your ins and they cover it. I would call and ask them before completly ruling it out all together. Welcome to LBT!!!! Good luck with getting your band and I wish you lots of success.

    stuck on everything?

j.s. anytime you have something come up out of your throat... I consider that a pb or Productive burp.Sometimes I get the stuck feeling and within a few minutes the feeling goes away but if that feeling doesn't go away and gets worse then I will start to slime and sometimes it will be even bad enough that I would throw up what was stuck. So my answer is yes I consider sliming a pb. If I actually slime I always go on liquids for 24 hours then go back to eating but just being cautious. After you slime or pb or right after a fill your esophigus sometimes becomes swollen and this will cause you to have a chain reaction of slimes or pb's. Alot of times you will have a pb then if you eat solids your next meal it will happen again and if you don't give your stomach time to rest and release some swelling it will continue to happen and only become worse. Of course depending on your level of restriction. Some people have no problems at all after sliming and can go right on to the next meal and eat just like before but some people depending on their restriction will continue to pb until the swelling subsides. I hope this makes more sence. I didn't mean to worry you. Hope this explains and helps you understand better.

    How often do you PB?

I have had a wonderful experience with my band so far and would recomend it to anyone that is willing to make a lifestyles change. I think it is very important for you to do all the research you can and weigh the pros and cons before you have the band done. I'm 3 months post op and am down 34 pounds. I love my band. I will say That I have had a few times that I've pb'd but it has been on something that was to dry or when I am in to big of a hurry and didn't chew something well enough. If you eat slowly and avoid foods that get stuck easily you will probably not have to much trouble. Good luck on your research and on deciding to get banded. The band is a great tool and when used properly it can help you achieve goals you never thought possible. There are lots of people on this board who are within a few pounds of being at goal. The band is awsome!!!!

    Do you eat breakfast???

I do feel like your body needs breakfast. Your stomach is empty when you first get up and until you put something in it your metabolism isn't working as hard. Putting food in gets your metabolism going and I do think it gives you more energy to get the day started and I don't feel as hungry come lunch time. Plus as others have said. If I didn't do protein at breakfast I wouldn't get in all my protein for the day. I usually do a protein shake or some yogurt for breakfast. Anything else is just to much for me to handle.
