New Jersey Sleevers?
Cindy's WL Roadtrip replied to madamsoul's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Wow, congratulations. I had mine done Dec. 8th. I feel good now, but it was a bit painful the first three weeks. I was actually quite depressed the first few days after I got home. But I think it was because I was so uncomfortable. Now, I feel great. I am down 30 pounds since my first doctor visit. It feels amazing. Let me know if you need anything. Good luck. -

Thanks! I learned my lesson. I went back to puréed food and will not touch another nut!!! -

Hello fellow Dec. 8th Sleever. I am down 17 pounds, similar to you. I am not focused on the weight loss at this time. We should be doing whatever we need to do to heal. That is most important. Don't be so hard on yourself. Do you have any pain? I still have this sharp pain in my stomach. I did have some nuts the other day and think that may have been the reason. -
New Jersey Sleevers?
Cindy's WL Roadtrip replied to madamsoul's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hello my fellow NJ sleeves. I am in Central Jersey, and 2 weeks post-op. I recently began Phase 2 of my diet, puréed food. I have this constant burning pain that feels as if it is coming from my stomach. Interestingly, it seems to be worse when I bend down. I have tried to stick to the liquid diet, but I did have a handful of nuts a few days ago. I just wanted to chew something. Has anyone experienced something similar? -
Any December Sleevers

Hey Scifiguy. I'm glad to hear that you have no surgical pain and minimal gas pain. The gas pain is killing me. Did you think walking on the treadmill helped? -
Any December Sleevers

I was Dec. 8th. I came home yesterday. Feeling good. Still in pain, but I am only using Tylenol to manage it. After tonight, I probably won't use anything. The hardest part post surgery is all this darn gas still inside me. My stomach is so distended. I have been trying to walk around as much as possible. How are the Dec. 9th surgery patients feeling? -

Disappointed insurance denied
Cindy's WL Roadtrip replied to Mz. NuNu's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't be discouraged. It took me two requests before I was approved. My BMI is 37 and I had mild sleep apnea. I had a lot of support from my psychiatrist, who described my ongoing weight loss challenge I experienced for years. I adhered to the 4 month nutritionist-supervised diet and was rejected the first time because I gained 2 pounds during that time. I didn't give up. I started right back up with the next 4 months of supervised diet, and I was approved!! I had my sleeve done Dec 8th. Don't let the denied claim set you back emotionally, call your insurance company and ask for their guidelines for approval. -
2 days post-op, can I drink more water?
Cindy's WL Roadtrip replied to ChronicJam's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am two days postoperative. I am concerned because I don't think I am getting any protein. My clear liquid diet consists of water, broth, skim milk, diet jello, diet cranberry juice, and sugar free Popsicles. I would give anything for a protein shake, but I guess I can't have them yet. Does anyone know why? -

Did anyone feel like they were going to die?
Cindy's WL Roadtrip replied to Mrs.FullerRN's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel exactly the same. I am having a mini meltdown, too. A year ago, I started the process but backed out as it was getting closer to surgery. I decided, yet again, that I would really give exercise and diet another chance. Well, here I am after a year at the same weight. So, I am going back to the doctors on Friday to start again. BUT, I am literally having a meltdown. I am so worried I am going to die and that because I think it, it will happen. On he flip side, I cannot stand myself at my current weight. If I don't have this surgery soon, I will need both knees replaced and hide inside forever. Hang in there. I think it is the guilt one feels like it is not a "real surgery" or something to be ashamed of because we are overweight. Also, it doesn't help when all your family and friends think it is a cop out or the worse decision in your life. I have been going to therapy biweekly because I need to talk it through with a professional before I go insane. When is your surgery? -
