Poll: Are you glad you were banded?

If you had chosen the gastric bypass you would still have to change your whole frame of mind. You have to retrain your mind and body. It is not an easy task, believe me. If it was I wouldn't of had to have surgery. Gastric bypass is not an automatic fix either. I know so many people that have had bypass and wish they would have had the band.

Banded 30 days and feel like a failure

I am so glad I logged on today and read everyone's respones to feeling like a failure. I am 4 weeks post-op and I have gained 1 pound back. I feel hunger all the time, I am still not eating anything near what I used to eat before surgery. I know it won't come off over night, but I didn't expect to gain anything back either. I have lost 22 punds so far, includes pre-op diet. Thanks for the suggestion of staying off the scale. I find myself on there every morning... how depressing! No more, I will try only weighing myself every Monday morning.
  7. My name is Rhonda. I had surgery on June 13, so far so good. I have lost 20 pounds since June 1 when I started the pre-op diet. My incisions are healed and looking good. I don't have any pain, the only problem I seem to have is a heartburn feeling in my chest and constipation. I have been eating mashed potatoes, refried Beans, pudding, and egg salad. I have had some other things that weren't on my list, but very little. I need some new suggestions for things to eat. I am tired of Soup, yogurt, Jello, pudding, mashed potatoes. Any ideas?? I had surgery at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, Michigan. Dr. Wagner was my surgeon. The whole crew at Hurley Hospital and the Bariatric Clinic were fantastic. Thanks!!
  8. I know exactly how you feel. I had surgery on June 13th and I still can't burp. I have no suggestions, but wanted to let you know your not alone! I still get full off liquids, then I can't eat. My doctor told me not to worry about it. I am still really bloated from surgery.
