  1. I completely agree!! Talk about feeling discouraged and ashamed...
  2. The things I will NOT miss about being fat include but are not limited to:) ----- 1. Looking at a chair and thinking 'will I end up on the floor if I sit in that?' 2. Disappointing my kids when they want to go out. Even to the park because I'm hiding myself from the world. 3. Not being able to get off my couch without using my hands. 4. My double chin rubbing my chest when I eat. 5. Having no confidence. 6. Feeling inferior to anyone who was thinner. 7. Feeling ashamed when I go pick up fast food for dinner (because I shouldn't eat fast food since I'm already fat...) 8. Avoiding all swimming parties. 9. Chub rub 10. Constantly adjusting my tops in fear of people seeing my back fat. 11. People staring at the things in my shopping cart. 12. Settling for hand me downs or peoples "fat clothes" because I cant afford 60$ for a pair of pants and a shirt. 13. Uncomfortable, ugly bra's. (Maybe I'm delusional for hoping this will change lol)

    August sleevers progress

First weigh in with surgeon: 280 Surgery day weight: 267 Current weight: 234 I was sleeved on 8/12. So happy with the progress. I'm finally over the regret hurdle!!
  4. Almost a week out from surgery and I'm feeling like a human again. I spent one night in the hospital but I could have stayed 2. Wednesday I was overing doing it, cooking dinner, giving my kids baths, folding laundry thinking Im sitting while doing most thing so its ok. Thursday was the same. Friday I woke up having the worst pain and thought my incisions ripped open. I actually went to the ER. Nothing was wrong but I was told to take my pain meds and take it easy. I'm really following those orders now and feel incredibly better. Drinking water and getting in my protein are the only things I'm worrying about. I'm down 17lbs and feeling so blessed.
  5. I'm in Cali. Had a great surgeon. Great staff. Ive heard this before but I didn't really believe that we'll gain weight after surgery... I gained 5.3 lbs. In less than one day! All the IV fluids...
  6. I'm really tired too. Ive been sleeping off and on throughout the day. My husband and mom told me my stomach looks smaller already. Like an indentation, but we found out after the survey that I a hurnia that he had to repair so I'm guessing that's why.
  7. I survived!! Came out of surgery with no complications. It didn't seem real until I was actually in the OR. Ive got a ton of pressure under my collar bones. Its the gas. And of course my incisions hurt, Other than that pain I'm good. Easier than expected but ive been sleeping a lot. Wishing for a speedy recovery to all the other 8-12-13.sleevers
  8. Monday!! Me too:) good luck!!
  9. 2 days. Where are you? What surgeon? Im in Ca. Dr Nguyen. Ive been doing weights and walking. I promise I'm not stalking just making my way through the site but I saw your pic of the beach!! I'm jealous! I love the ocean.
  10. Really?! good luck! What preparation have you been doing?
  11. Ive been curious to know if anyone else feels like their spouse doesn't quite grasp what exactly is going to be changing with this surgery. My husband acts like its all "my choice, my life" and its not going to affect him at all. Any postop people have advice on this? Does life really change that much or just the portions?
  12. This is My first time posting but have been reading for a week. My surgery is Monday. Super excited and stressed. I've been scouring for all the info I can find and have been very impressed with the info I've found here. I started this journey 6 weeks ago and now I'm here. Just days away from surgery! Good luck to all!
