Insurance Hoops? or just finance the thing and go to Mexico
Blondiee replied to Photo925's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Photo925- If you were accepted into the Options program you qualify for the surgery and are not going to be denied. I hope that helps to put your mind at ease. My journey through the Kaiser process has been pretty straight forward ( see my signature). You should maybe call the Health Education department about upcoming Options classes. Please feel free to message me if you have any other questions. -
Insurance Hoops? or just finance the thing and go to Mexico
Blondiee replied to Photo925's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My insurance (Kaiser CA) required a 3 month program called Options. I didn't want to go... I also didn't want to pay for this surgery if I didn't have to. What requirements does your insurance have? I wish you the best in whatever decision you make! -
The Waiting Game - Question
Blondiee replied to LittleLou's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know 10 days seems like and eternity after all of the appointments we have during this process but, be thankful that your insurance doesn't require more. Based on your signature it's been roughly 2 months for you? -
The Waiting Game - Question
Blondiee replied to LittleLou's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not sure what insurance you have but I'd say give her 10 business days. If you haven't heard anything by then give her a call to see what the status is. -

Will you lie about the surgery?
Blondiee replied to BigD35's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There have been many threads on this subject since I've been here at VST. If someone asks me if I had weight loss surgery or how I'm losing weight my reply will be " my weight loss struggles are a private matter." I got this from a member here (don't remember your screen name, sorry). That is my final answer. I have only told my HR rep and my boss about my plans for surgery. -
Finally, a date...and I don't mean with George Clooney.

Congratulations and wishing you a speedy recovery. I hope I am one of those lucky people that wake up with just a little pain.

Congratulations on your upcoming surgery. From what I've read here on the boards what you're feeling is completely normal. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Welcome Annie68. This place has been a godsend for me during my pre-op phase. Wishing you the best in your journey.

Pre Op meeting with Surgeon and Answers to my Questions
Blondiee replied to 1SuperBonBon's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for sharing. I'm going to add some of your questions to my list. -
Are you adding anything to your wardrobe for the fall and winter seasons, or are you going to work with what you have in your closet? I LOVE  to shop so I will be adding a couple of tops and sweater from Marshalls or TJMaxx. I'd also like a leather/pleather dress or skirt...if the price is right. I should be having my surgery late October to mid November so I know it won't be wise to spend a lot of money on clothes but I'm just curious as to what everyone else plans on doing. Post pictures if you like. I'd like this dress...

My Gastric Sleeve Story 9-26-2013
Blondiee replied to Powderkeg42's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I feel the same way Peachie. I have only told my direct supervisor (she had RNY) and my HR rep. I've always been a very private person and everyone doesn't need to know about MY medical history. -
My Gastric Sleeve Story 9-26-2013
Blondiee replied to Powderkeg42's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Peachie86, Glad that your experience was nice @ Kaiser. I'm putting positive energy out into the universe that my experience will be the same. How long did it take for Kaiser to call and schedule your consult after the Options classes? It's been a week since I've completed them and I'm NOT a patient person. lol -
