You are very brave! Congratulations on your project and the education you will be giving to others that do not know about the sleeve as an option is priceless. :D -

Problems with Primary Care Physician
BeeLee37 replied to retiredgal60's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I see my Dr. at the end of this month for my first weigh in and I am worried about the same thing. He already told me he does not think surgery is a good choice. I think you should have an honest conversation about your struggle and ask him if he has a questions for you. Remind him how many times he has seen you try and fail and all the physical ways e extra weight affects you. Remind him he is there to help you, not judge you. I did that (after all the arguing) and he seemed to soften but I will not know for sure until the next appointment. If your Dr. does not soften up I was told a gynecologist can also write a letter to insurance on your behalf. Good luck and keep us posted -
I want to see breast lift before and after pics with NO implants!
BeeLee37 replied to Jenny12's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
No pictures but my cousin in law had gastric bypass so when she had her tummy tuck after weight loss she also had a breast lift. Her insurance did not cover implants, just the lift but she looks great. She has small shoulders and is short so I think that helped in how well it turned out and how normal the size is for her. They are also right where they should be and she can go without a bra when she wants to. The scarring was not bad and has faded a lot over the past few years. I hope this helps. -

Lightweights in the house! Any more people with less to lose/less BMI's?
BeeLee37 replied to MumtazG38's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am just starting this process. I went to my first seminar August 6 but found out two days later they do not accept my insurance so it would have to be done out of network. I said "no thank you" and now my second seminar is scheduled August 13 with a different surgeon. I am 5' 3" and 230 pounds. After the first seminar I was talking to the guest speaker and another woman told me I do not look like I needed the surgery. It was strange to hear that. I told her I did and that she could not see my high blood pressure, high cholesterol or bad back and painful joints. She apologized but I see what you are saying here. I must look like a lightweight but sure do not feel like one.
