    When did you try breads?

I think I am of the camp where if I tell myself I can never have it then I will crave it and obsess about it....so when the urge hits I have it....also I have personally found I feel better with a few carbs on board....not a high or anything, just more energy and stamina....more desire to move. So maybe it's a sugar high, maybe it's just my body using the quick energy before the protein kicks in.....but that is my goal. I was always hoping to be able to eat in moderation and the little bit of anything I want without going hog wild. Right now(7 weeks out) that is where I am....my goal is to stay there and to have as close to a "normal" relationship with food as possible.....

    roller coasters!

My doc cleared me to all activity as tolerated at two week appointment. i went to Cedar Point at 4 weeks....I only rode one, but that was more of a line issue than anything.....
  3. that food bible and bible thumping is my biggest fear....I do follow my doc/nuts guidelines, but I also use my common sense. I was very tired and lethargic the first few weeks....this past week or so I have increased my carbs a bit and my losses have been steady and I feel better....I'm not going hog wild, but a slice of bread a day or a few crackers hasn't hurt me any.....I am not advocating that for anyone but me...it's my body and I am taking my own risks....but each of us is individual...the docs/nuts have to go by the rule not the exceptions. And I know I am an exception...I always am.
  4. I have had an open partial hyst followed by a lap gall bladder, and ovary removal...so three surgeries. I was afraid I would have to have it open too...no problem. I also have RA. Have had it for three years. The weeks ahead of surgery were rough as my RA meds had to be stopped, but after surgery my body was busy working on the surgery site and left my joints alone. Now that I am about 7 weeks out my RA has reared it's ugly head again. Working on getting my meds back on track...but this summer wasn't good for my meds(I had shingles before surgery as well....basically off and on my meds all summer long). I won't say the loss so far has cured my RA, but I do know that I feel better with it....my joints still hurt but it is better...

    Autoimmune Issues and VSG?

It was devastating....I was in tears in his office and after I left. I kind of knew it was coming, but I hated to see it happen. It's been about a year and a half now, and I know it was the right choice....but it still hits me hard lots of days...esp when my income could come in handy. Still waiting on approval of my disability.....

    Autoimmune Issues and VSG?

Savella messed with my BP too, but my doc just upped my BP meds......I was at a point where I could not work at all without it. Shortly after he had me file for disability and beating the fatigue was no longer an important point for him.

    Autoimmune Issues and VSG?

I've not heard of that one.....I hope it helps. I know my Rheumatologist suggested Savella for me for the fatigue.....I hope it helps!!!

    No soda? Need suggestions...

My problem was on the days after my really bad meds(think chemo) for my RA. This week was my first shots since my surgery, and my hubby brought me home my typical post shot comfort foods(Coke and pretzels...pretty much the only things I could keep down after the shots before). Still couldn't have them, but I managed to get through without eating or drinking much......feeling more like me today and eating and drinking again....I'm just guessing I will have these two days every week where my intake is drastically diminished......

    Autoimmune Issues and VSG?

well, the move is mostly over....Hubby is cleaning out the old house and I am catching up on laundry I thought I had all done before we moved. Had a rough week this week as I went back on my Cimzia and Methotrexate this week and it took me down for two whole days. I finally got a chance to catch up on reading the posts and am thinking of you all......
  12. Just had them checked today by my hematologist....I should hear from her soon.
  13. Hi...I am in my fourth week out, and am just exhausted. I felt great all last week, and weekend, but the past three days I just feel like a truck hit me. I can do a little bit, then I am just wiped out. Sometimes even showering is too much. I know I am probably trying to do too much again, but I am not a sitter. We moved last weekend, and I helped finish the packing. I took it easier on Monday and Tuesday, then did my shots for my RA which can always give me this blah feeling. I guess I was just hoping to have more energy after my surgery than I did before, and I did that third week........Help?

  15. So I'm afraid it may have hit.....the book my dr gave me said that mood swings happen....I have spent the last 24 hours crying at the drop of a hat and just basically being a "baby". I am not a crier.....I don't cry over ANYTHING. yet, I can't stop!!!! any suggestions? I feel like I'm going crazy!!!!
