I was banded on the 26th of Nov. I'm feeling pretty good. I have pain now and again around the port site but usually only when I have been up and about for too long. Only taking 1 tylenol every 8 hours. I find the fatigue frustrating. I am going to try and have 2 protein shakes today and see if that helps. So glad to hear everybody is coming along in their recovery. My heart goes out to you folks that have had trouble with nausea. That sucks and I can only imagine how much it hurts to get sick. Coughing, laughing hard and sneezing are still a bit painful. Take good care and keepus posted on your recovery. Barb

Congrats Terry!! I was banded on Monday the 26th. Each day gets a little better. Walking definetly helps and I found the Gas X chewables help as well. It's funny not to feel hungry. I have been having two protein drinks a day and sugar free jello. I am going to mash and egg later today and see how that goes. I know for health I should be getting more protein and calories in but it seems strange to do it without any hunger. Keep us posted on your recovery and Welcome!! All the best Barb

I too was banded on Monday and am feeling really good. Had to stay overnight because of a slightly elevated temperature. Wish I had gone home because I didn't sleep. Too darn noisy. Pain has been very manageable with 2 Tylenol extra strength. Starting to feel hungry as I haven't had real food sincce Saturday night. Will have a protein shake for breakfast. I am so happy with my decision and very grateful that I have had such an easy time of things (so far). Best wishes to all you Monday/November bandsters. Please keep posting on your progress. It is so helpful to know we are in this together. Barb

Jacqui your quote " Shut your gob and move your ass" cracks me up!!!! I must remember that when I am having a bad day and feeling sorry for myself. Makes me laugh! Thanks, Barb -

Hi All, I am waiting for a date....hopefully November. I am doing well with my exercising but as I get closer to the surgery I keep having doubts about how I am going to handle the emotional side of all of this. What if I screw this up! I know I will be restricted but how do I get past the part of me that is a food addict. You know...the out of control part. I want this to work out so much. I am afraid of failing. Can I do this??? Are there others who feel this way? Any support or advise would be very greatfully appreciated. Thanks, Barb

Worried about the emotional stuff
BarbBee replied to BarbBee's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thank you all so much for the support. It is a great comfort to know I am not alone. I decided when I feel overwhelmed about it all I will come back to the Board here as all of you are so supportive and inspirational. I have been having such a rollercoaster of emotions. I can hardly wait for a surgery date and want to get this party started...and then I feel like how will I ever lose 150 lbs. I must remeber one day at a time. Thanks again. Barb -

A thread for super-sized bandsters - starting BMI over 50?
BarbBee replied to Wheetsin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thank you so much for starting this thread. I must admit I have felt at times like maybe I was in the wrong place on this site. I am pre op and have over 150 lbs. to lose. Reading the amazing stories of everyones journey really inspires me and makes me feel I am in the right place. I am now waiting for a surgery date and my Doc says 2-3 months. I admit I am very excited to start the journey but also very afraid of failure. -

That is fantastic Tom!! "Weigh to go!" I am still researching my decision and any info or insights you can share would be great! Keep up the fantastic work! Barb -
I am new to the site and decided I need to research both options for weight loss surgery. I have battled my weight all my life and now it is catching up with me big time (excuse the pun). I have had trouble controlling by blood pressure, (3 medications) I am pre diabetic, and my feet and knees are always sore. It is time for me to take control of my life and I hope that weight loss surgery will help me to get there. I have recently joined the gym and am really enjoying it. It is hard work but it feels good. I have 150 pounds to lose and feel at 45 now is the time! I have met with Dr. Amson once and am waiting for appointments with all the specialists. I am excited to join the site and learn more about everyone's experiences. Thanks...chat with you soon. Barb :cat:
