Toradol was a blessing and a curse. I received it post op Q6hrs IV had no pain. Woke up after the first day home without it. And thought I was going to die. Ugh. It gives you a false sense of being pain free. Just a warning to you for when you get home and are no longer on the iv med. -

Hello all. I was sleeved on 3/5/18. HW 296 SW 265 CW 248.7. My second week post op I hit 246. I started the purée phase this past Monday, my calorie consumption is in the 380’s. I realize the purée phase has some carbs, but not a ton, anyone else stall and gain a bit with the start of purée phase? It makes no sense to me. I am walking 30-60 min a day on the treadmill. -
I did that. I went to settings/notifications/ turned off push notifications. Still getting emails

I think I would be angry if I went to School obtained credentials only for lay people and others to call me a NUT. Seems disrespectful. But I may be splitting hairs. -
One of my faves is mashed potatoes with fat free sour cream and cottage cheese. I despise cottage cheese. But in the potatoes I don’t notice it.

Ok so I have seen the term NUT a lot in this forum. I work I. The medical field and have never seen this used to abbreviate a medical professional. So what does it mean? I assume nutritionist? But that doesn’t seem to correlate with some of the posts. -
how long was your pre-op diet?

The weeks leading up to Surgery (before insurance approval), I was working with a dietitian, and lost 29 lbs. then when I got my surgery date I had a 10 day liquid diet that looked like this. 5 premier protein shakes a day two 1 cup servings of either a fruit or a veggie. I could also have SF Jello and SF popsicles and broth. Then the day prior to surgery no protein only clear liquids, broth, SF Jello, SF popsicles. -
Intro time: who's new to the group, who's pre-op, & who just recently made it to the loser's bench?

Energy hasn’t been a problem. The first week the surgical site pain was pretty intense especially changing position from sitting to standing. But once I was up I could walk ok. I started slow and only walked about 10 min at a time. But I think it was day 8. I just noticed I felt better. Standing and sitting were not a problem. Now I am at 3-3.2 mph on the treadmill (no incline) and I go about 30 min. At a time. It was 70 here the other day and I took an outdoor 2 mile walk that lasted about 50 min. Where are you from. -

As long as ins approves, I will have surgery on march 28. Excited and nervous all at the same time. I work in health care and have personally seen what happens when things go wrong. Trying to put that out of mind and focus on the benefits. More to come.....
