This is a tough one because I agree with ALL posters. I don't want to belittle anyone who is struggling in the days and weeks post op. BUT. .. while I did whine a little in post op I knew that my ailments were normal and temporary and it never even crossed my mind to regret my decision. I'll leave the regret for people that have complications or life altering problems. Normal post op suckyness is definitely something to reach out for support for but not something to declare your regret about. I wanted to start a rant about this myself but I didn't know how to say it without coming off as a cold hearted bitch-. I think the posts from people declaring their major regret when they are experiencing a normal post op is detrimental to people seeking information on wls. That being said, I truly hope their post op misery is short lived and I will always do what I can to ease their fears

Hair loss, evidence with picture and me bitching...
Seela replied to dreamscometrue's topic in Rants & Raves
I'm lucky that I have a lot of hair because I've probably lost half of it. I know, in my head, that it will grow back but when I'm in the shower and it's literally coming out by the handful there's nothing I can do but cry. It's horrible. It's so much worse than I thought it would be. I'm so happy on so many levels but this hair loss business just makes it really hard to fully enjoy all of my success. I really can't wait until I'm on the other side and I'm bitching about all the new growth that's getting in my way! -
I would think as long as you stick to high protein dense foods you should be able to keep the calories in check. Congratulations on the scale moving again and on your new found love for Zumba.

I LOVE Zumba! Great calorie burn too!

I'm sorry you're struggling but honestly at about one week out what you describe is not so unusual. A month from now you'll be singing a different toon. I hope you feel better, Good luck

Which bariatric advantage powder tastes best?
Seela replied to Erin414's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I personally really like the bariatric advantage shake mix. I usually do chocolate hot or cold and sometimes I do one scoop of chocolate and one scoop Orange cream. Yum... sometimes I add a scoop or two of pb2. Yum yum... taste is a difficult thing to get opinions about because everyone is different. -
Try chop sticks. Unless you are very adept at using them they will slow you down.

Whether or not it needs to be surgically removed depends on if it's actually excess skin or excess loose saggy fat. If it's loose fat it can be lost/reduced. If it's just skin it can't.

A vent about where I'm losing inches from...
Seela replied to Bobbi McGhee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Give it time ladies. .. things will smooth out and even out in time, especially during stalls or periods of no weight loss. Your body tends to be healing and settling during those times. Hang in there -
Anyone else having trouble getting off pureed foods at six weeks..
Seela replied to Iambeautiful's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That early out it could also simply be way to much sugar from the cantaloupe. I'm 5 1/2 months out and sugary fruits still make me sick. -
Revision 1.5 yrs after band removal
Seela replied to meledl's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
The sleeve hasn't been used as a wls for as long as bypass but partial gastrectomy has been around for a very long time. The only data they don't have long term with regard to sleeve is the weight loss data. Sleeve has proven to be a safe and worthy alternative. Good luck. -
Hilarious. .. I can't believe you actually took the time to look that up!
-
Great idea, I'm gonna try that!

I wonder how much protein?
-
Sounds like you are doing great, normal. If you're able to meet your goals try to get in more protein and water. It wasn't until I was about 4-6 weeks out until I started feeling normal again. In the meantime just take it as easy as you can and do your best to get everything in. It will get better. .. promise

I was stopped at at red light earlier and the dude in the car next to me was ceremoniously picking his nose. Gross.

I tried baby food... it tastes terrible!

Hi everyone! I'm still rockin the sleeve at just over 5 months out. Sleeved 10/21 and down 75 lbs. I have gone from a size 20 to a size 10 and for the first time in over 10 years I bought dresses! I'm a little self conscious about wearing them but my daughter assures me that I look cute! These aren't the best pictures because I've been trying on about a million dresses and my hair's all messed up, but I'm so excited and just wanted to share!
