Im 3 weeks postop and i can easily take a 12 oz shake in a few minute
Seela replied to wss5480's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will be 3 weeks out tomorrow. I have very little restrictions with reguard to liquids of any kind. I can drink a protein shake on under 20 min... and if I haven't eaten in a while I can chug water. My problem is last night I started really wanting food. I've been struggling with this all day. Purees just aren't doing it for me like I hoped they would. I think because everything is so liquidy it just goes right through me. I ate a cheese stick today, chewed it till it was liquefied and finally felt full... for hours. But now that I'm full.. I don't want to drink and get hungry again. Very confusing. -

My surgeon said most of his patients are on anti depressants -
Oct 21st here! I was so surprised at how easy recovery has been. No nausea, very little pain, back to work in two weeks and on my feet all day. I'm in the puree stage.. who ever thought puree food could be so great! HW 250 PRE OP 247 Day OF SURGERY 236 CW 223.5

This totally happened to me too. I am also a hair dresser. I went back to work on Tuesday. Wed night I thought I was gonna die.I am only doing two clients a day but now I wish it was just one client a day. It is also very difficult to stay hydrated while working. The first 2 days o had a hard time remembering to stop and sip. My advice; take it easy and maybe set a little timer to sip every 5 min. Good luck!

I'll be 3 weeks out on monday. .. if I get 400 cals I consider it a good day. I can't even imagine doubling that! The extra energy a lack of shaky-ness that comes from consuming calories would be nice though

Ok.. mine was getting better daily then about a week and a half post op it got worse again. Way worse. Someone posted it was the stitches popping as they are disposable. Makes sense and the indent in flattening out. Pain lasted for two days then got much better.

Good and bad moment today
Seela replied to pookluvp's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I only lost 10.. now in stall.. it'll happen, too early to get frustrated. Now if I go a whole month without losing I'll probably lose my mind. But a week or two at this early stage is normal -
Sleeved W/hernia Repair Tuesday... Can't Get Anything But Tiny Bits Of Water Down. Help!
Seela replied to sapMegan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same. For the first few days my "sips" consisted of just touching my upper lip to water and swallowing. It gets better. I will be 3 weeks out on monday and I can actually drink water. It's awesome! ! -
I've been really lucky and only had a really hard emotional time for about two days about a week and a half post op. I believe I'm smack in the middle of the dreaded 3week stall. I'm so grateful that, although everyone gets sick of hearing about it, everyone still posts about it. I feel like it's just par for the course thanks to this app. I'm sure this has been posted before but can some of you share some stats? What I'd like to see is; how many calories consumed daily at about 3, 4, 6.. etc. weeks out... how many lbs lost per week at same intervals... how long did your three week stall last? ** also wondering ig October sleevers want to share MFP user names? Mine is Seela13. Thanks!

You look so amazing. .. do something nice for yourself

Not so random thought: I've lost 25 lbs which is 1/4 of my weight to lose and because I'm so damn fat no one can even tell. Fat sucks
-
Little late for posting but app wouldn't work yesterday. I'm right smack in the middle of the dreaded 3 week stall so not much to report. Cw 225.. goal at TG 210... that's starting to look like wishful thinking!

Stuck and Frustrated. ..
Seela replied to WildChickie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm right there with all of you. And it didn't occur to me that the 3week stall included pre op untill now. I hope the 3 weeks stall doesn't last for 3 weeks...that would suck! -
This not drinking for thirty minutes stuff sucks.

I think there should be a section labeled 'Cheaters- Pre and post op'. That way we have more, warning, if you will and will enter into whine country willingly

Mom was supportive at first but questioning things now....
Seela replied to tigermom12's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My parents have both been very supportive, however, my mom said something to me the other day about how supportive she's been but how she has refrained from telling me her opinion on wls. Wtf! I don't want to here it. Ever! I would rather receive fake support just because she loves me than here one more uninformed thin person give me their "opinion" on my medical problems, even if it is my mom. On the otherhand it's painful to know my mom, probably, thinks I'm crazy. Oh well, maybe I am, but that's not gonna change any time soon. Lol -
October Sleevers - Who else
Seela replied to clefofcividale's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
OMG!!! Going back to work (I'm a hair stylist) was soooo much harder than I thought it would be. I am two weeks out as of Mon, sleeved on the 21st. I've been feeling great but yesterday really set me back. I'm afraid it's going to be a really long week. -
It was certainly all consuming. .. going back to work tomorrow. . Back to normalcy. I love the restricted diet right now (purees). It's kind of like wearing a uniform to work... I never really have to worry about what to eat and food is no longer controlling my life

When did you stop cleaning your inscisions and just let them air out and heal naturally?
Seela replied to Italiancurves's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My dr said to leave the steri strips on until my post op appointment. . Day ten post op he took them off and they were pretty much all healed up! -
How long after your surgery did you resume taking vitamins?
Seela replied to Italiancurves's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine was 10 days out. All Dr s are different but I think you'll find most at about 2 weeks -
