I say your post about this. . Sounds exciting! I feel like these kind of goals are healthier (for me) than just watching the scale!

Hi, I was sleeved 10/21 so that's 5 weeks tomorrow. I also had a hernia repair. I have had a very easy recovery, no nausea, I have no food restrictions what so ever. I have no more pain at all. I would love to add some sit ups and more strenuous excersise to my walking now that I'm feeling good. I don't go back to my dr. For a couple of weeks. Do you think it's ok or should I just do what is against my nature and be patient?

Christian, single mom's, I need to talk to you!
Seela replied to Jesus68's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I think there are so many other ways you can give. If you choose to do this for youself and cannot continue with your tithing you can up you commitment to serving. You can give more of yourself. As a Christian woman (and single mom at 41) and struggling with money, after talking with my priest he made it clear to me that tithing can come in forms othet than money. I didn't really understand this at first and had a lot of guilt. But I have done more for my family, my community and made more for my church than I would evrr have been able to give from ordinary tithing. Whatever you decide ut will be with God's blessing. -

Seela replied to Seela's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yeah, me too, it's hard because I feel really good and I want to do it before I lose the desire! But I really don't want to hurt myself so I guess I'll just wait. Better safe than sorty... it's only another week or two right? -

Seela replied to gamergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A little Turkey. .. cut up into tiny little piece. Some vegetables and if room some mashed potatoes. Simple -
For me the head hunger was worse for the first few weeks. Once I started on more solid foods it completely went away.

Seela replied to AshleyBrookeRN's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums

Let's Talk About The Power Of Exercise.
Seela replied to Bombs's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm so proud of you! ...and inspired!!! Your amazing -
Your only 4days out.. concentrate on liquids and try to add protein to everything. You should be able to get more in every day.
-
A lot of what you are feeling is also your stomach and surrounding muscles healing. This will get much better once you start on more solid food and are more healed probably ariund week 4 or so
-
I was surprised that I could actually notice a marked improvement hour by hour.
-
Liquid diet is so hard... post op first couple of weeks is really tough but it gets better hour by hour. If you want hot chocolate try heating a cup of water and adding your chocolate protein powder. Tastes just like instant hot chocolate. Hang in there. It does get better.

My daughter was always way taller and bigger than the other girls growing up. I got the... wow she's big! Comments all the time. At 16 she's over 5'8"" tall and a size 3. She's drop dead gorgeous, tall and thin. And still a big girl. And because of her hight still gets the comments. But she's proud of it and yet not defined by it. Last week she went to a dance and in the ridiculously high heels she wore she was almost 6' tall and considerably taller than her boyfriend. Bigger isn't always bad .

WH 250 started at 247 Sw 236 Cw STILL 220 don't think I'm gonna make my goal of 210... but who knows what the week will bring? I'm only 4 weeks out and this early anything can happen! So while it's a little early I think I will postpone that goal to Christmas and ask Santa for new jeans

Seela is short for Suseela. The only person who calls me that is my mom ans inly when she's mad at me my full name is listed on my cosmetology license and my clients will see it and start calling me Suseela. I tell them I don't like it and that my mom only calls me that when I'm in trouble. Lol. If they continue calling me that I simply ignore them. When they question me about it I tell them that I only answer to that name for my mom. If forces them not to do it if they want me to answer. ... if it continues pretend like you are deaf and either go about your business or walk away. They'll figure it out eventually. Just don't let them see that it bothers you. When people ask why I'm not answering them I just say well my mom's not here so I didn't realize you were talking to me, (while acting like I didn't even hear them). They'll get the message

I am definitely feeling depressed. And my family is driving me crazy. I'm on my feet all day at work and at only 4 weeks out by the time I get home I'm exhausted and sore. They act like I'm being lazy and it seems like I have to keep reminding them that I just had surgery. The other day my husband said.. 'that was like 4 weeks ago'... as if I should be all better and over it by now. Everyone is expecting to much and its really making it harder. Sorry for the rant but I really needed to get that off my chest. Did I mention my kids were driving me crazy?

Hi, I'm only a month out and here's what I can tell you. .. it's really hard at first, especially the pre op. Your detoxing and it sucks. But you can do it. After surgery all you can have are liquids. . It too starts to suck after a while but it's easy. Then for a long time you will be concentrating on mostly protein. .. by that time you will have been off carbs and sugars for so long you most likely won't even want them any more. I personally am afraid to eat them so I haven't had any problems sticking eith the program. I even tried cottage cheese the other day. .. I didn't hate it. You'll make it work. It's easier with the surgery because even if you mess up you can only mess up a little because your stomach is tiny. We're all scared in the beginning. Make a commitment to yourself. .. you'll get there. Good luck
