The Food Police Were Out In Full Force Yesterday!

I used to be that person... now I just could care less about all the food. I sat there amidst all the desserts and felt like I was going into a diabetic coma just looking at it. And while I got questioned about my tbls of stuffing they were stuffing there faces like it may be their last meal. I find it interesting that in such a short amount of time my relationship with food has changed so much. -

Haha... how true! And while I was good I do love me some food porn -
I love hearing how everyone that was sleeved around the same time as me is doing! I'm amazed at the fast losers and reassured and comforted by the slower ones. I appreciate that you all continue to post here! HW 250 Started pre op at 247 SW 236 10/21 CW 216 That's 34lbs total loss and I couldn't be happier. I still have a little trouble getting hydrated and so my energy doesn't last as long as it used to but I feel great! Never had any nausea and no food restrictions whatsoever. .. I've been so fortunate. Thanks to all for your support.

I may be misunderstanding but I find it interesting that many of you (I think ) are assuming I started this thread because I was eating crap. Interesting. .. actually I ate one slice of Turkey, about a tbls each of stuffing and mashed potatoes and a few green beens. I was really good and still got all the comments and scrutiny. Oh yeah... I did have a little piece of dark chocolate too. So what? I'm a big girl, aren't I? I only got fed up and said something because this has been going on for weeks and I was sick of it. I tried talking to my family about it nicely and it didn't work, so BAM! now they get it. I don't mind honest curiosity and questions about my diet but I don't need to be policed. -
Your attitude is terrific but please understand that being sleeved does NOT take away your ability to cheat. It is still hard and you will have to work constantly to make good food choices. The sleeve is a tool not a cure but it certainly makes things easier and doable. Good luck!

As far as on or off the scale I think it's individual preferences. I personally am on the scale daily. I lost a bunch the first week and a half after surgery then nothing for what seemed like weeks. In actuality I would go a week or so with nothing then drop a few pounds. That seems to be my pattern. I thought I was losing hardly anything but when I sat down and did the math it averaged out to almost 3 lbs per week. It just all seems to come at once with semi long periods in between. Slower is healthier and with the calorie restrictions loss is a mathematical certainty. Check out some of the threads for individual months. Like July sleevers or October sleevers, and pay attention to the weight loss of some of them. You'll find most of us are in the same boat -
Your right, quit whining and do it. It's not that painful... and there are risks walking across the street. Quit living your life in fear and do something you can be proud of!

For me yesterday I ate normally. I had a couple ounces of Turkey, about a tbls potatoes and same of stuffing and one waffle cookie. I didn't feel guilty or ashamed even though it was more than I would normally eat. And all of the pie and home made whipped cream and cookies etc... didn't appeal to me in the slightest. I was comfortalbly full and quite satisfied with myself. That was normal. .. I hope I can keep it up!

Well didn't make goal but I was a bit over zealous- Cw 216.5... So I lost 8.5 lbs in 4 weeks! No complaints

So this summer I took my family camping at Burney Falls in No.Cal. I couldn't walk over all the big rocks to make the hike to the edge of the falls. As I sat there watching my husband and kids climb over I made the decision to have wls. Next summer I am going to take my family back to Burney Falls and I WILL hike those falls with them. That is my goal! I don't know why I didn't think of it before but that just feels like coming to full circle. Next summer I will post pictures of me sitting on my rock from this summer and me standing in that waterfall from next summer! Now I'm excited!
-
I know it's not a super huge goal but it was a turning point for me and I already feel like I could do it so I'm totally excited! It sucks when someone 20,30,40 years older than me pass me up... No more!

When Am I Going To Be Able To See My Progress?
Seela replied to Kyrie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I lost 32 lbs and didn't go down a size either... A week and a half later, still down 32lbs but dropped from 18/20 to loose 16. Go figure. Hand it there, loss is a mathematical certainty with such reduced calorie reduction. -
I'm mostly using the app on android

I cliked on this post from the vsg forum. I find it very difficult to know where I am until someone actually mentions their surgery in a thread. Also just not very many new threads and can't find people like I could before. .. getting board and sad
