SW for this challenge 173.8 Week 1- 170.6 GW fot Memorial Day 169.8 I spent the last 2 1/2 days moving upstairs so we'll see if this loss lasts... I hope so! It was so awesome, I must have gone up and down those stairs 100 times, carrying boxes, and I never got out of breath or burning legs. I'm so greatfull for my sleeved!

Hi. I have noticed that my skin condition, keratosis pillaris, has cleared about 80% since surgery. I have an extreme case covering most of my body and it surfaced when I was around 2 years old. When I was younger I saw multiple doctors but back then no one knew what it was. It's just in the last 15 years that I was able to put a name to it. Anyway, since it's gotten so much better I started thinking about it again and started wondering if it could have something to do with my drastic dietary changes. I've read that there is new evidence that it could be a result of a gluten sensitivity and possibly dairy too. So I was thinking paleo, but that lifestyle seems REALLY hard. Anyone here paleo? Please give tips on how your doing and where to start. Thanks

Anyone paleo? Symptoms clearing since vsg
Seela replied to Seela's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thanks for your responses. I'm going to try going gluten free at first but it's much harder than it sounds. Even soy sauce has wheat in it! I'm moving this weekend so no time to research and plan but I'll repost here with updates. -
Hair loss, evidence with picture and me bitching...
Seela replied to dreamscometrue's topic in Rants & Raves
Update... I was 6 months out on the 21st and, while I'm still losing more hair than normal, it has drastically slowed down. I wonder, how long between the hair loss stopping and regrowth starting? -

This is a great topic, something I think about often, and I hope more men chime in. Thanks to those that already have. -
October Sleevers - Who else
Seela replied to clefofcividale's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Sleeved 10/21, 6 months! HW 260, CW 173... 77 lbs lost! Before, in the BIG pink shirt, after, that's me in the coral dress with my daughter about a week ago. I love wearing dresses now! -
I've lost 77 lbs and my bathing suit problem is the BOOBS! I'll find a suit that fits perfectly but the boobs are just sad. I found a good suit with great boob control, a tankini, top has a full on underwire bra, just wish it was a tad bit longer. after trying on about 50 different suits from every store in town, I found this one for $15 at TJ Max!

Really having doubts now
Seela replied to hopeful2loose2014's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Something else to consider. .. at 2, 3 and 4 months out I was so grossed out by my body, all my skin was so loose and hanging. Now, at 6 months out, not so much. I have almost no "hanging" , just a very little low on my belly but I really think with hard work and another 10-20 lbs lost it will be gone. Granted, I have very elastic skin, but the point is you just never know, and don't freak out in the beginning if it's bad because it could get better in time. Good luck! -
SW for this challenge 173.8 GW fot Memorial Day 169.8 My loss has been really slow lately so I really just hope to move out of the 170's. Good luck everyone!

eczema healing 5 days out
Seela replied to Pamalamb's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have several skin issues, mainly a condition called keratosis pillaris. I've had it since I was about 2 years old. Since surgery it has gotten about 80% better. Amazing. I believe cutting out most sugars, carbs, gluten is the cause. Maybe someday I'll be able to cut out dairy and it will completely go away, but for now I'm thrilled! -
Help! I had a setback today and wonder how much I hurt myself.

I ate a chocolate bunny ear. Milk chocolate. It was really good!!! I don't feel the least little bit guilty either. -
Look on the vets forum for 5:2. A lot of vets swear by it. Good luck

Portion size and Daily Calories
Seela replied to jlong007's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm at 6 months today! And starting at 6 months I am supposed to be eating 1200 calories. I struggle to get in 800 most days. I never go under 60g protein and I dont really keep track of the rest, but I use mfp so the stats are there if I need them. -
Do u ever wonder how people here eat such a perfect diet - all the time?
Seela replied to marfar7's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
No worries, I completely understand how things can come across as unintended on these forums:) I also understand how you were probably feeling when you posted this. Trust me, nobody's perfect! -
Hair Loss,,,,,,,,,,,,, anyone else having this issue?
Seela replied to slocin12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine started at just over 3 months, I'm at 6 months tomorrow. It was HORRIBLE at 4 1/2-5 1/2 months. It seems to be slowing down some now... we'll see -
I'm in! I'm moving to a new apartment next week and there is a fitness center so im hoping to up my loss. I've seen a lot of people that start working out and gain in the beginning so I dont really know what to expect. I will set my goal at just a few lbs sinse I'm only about 33 lbs from goal, I can always change my goal if I surpass it quickly. I'm so excited, thanks Bea, for continuing these challenges, they really help keep me in check!

I, for one, am offended at the fact that you seem to be dissing those of us that are simply trying to stick to the plan we signed up for. Getting in all of our water, protein, exercise, etc is NOT a bad thing. Every single one of us got the sleeve in order to change our lives. I guess some of us just take it more seriously than others. Don't look down on the ones that are doing well and following through just because you can't or haven't been able to. This surgery is supposed to be a life changing event, not a... well I can still do everything I did before just in smaller doses event. I hope you figure that out before you ruin any success you've had so far. -
Hi. I was sleeved 10/21/13. HW 250 lbs SW 246lbs. At Christmas time I got one of those fancy scales that measures fat, water, muscle and bone. So, on Dec 26th I weighed 206.6 lbs, bmi 34.4... Scale measurements = fat 43.6, water 43, muscle 25 and bone 3.1. I kind of stopped tracking those numbers because they didn't seem to be changing. Fast forward to today. .. CW 175, bmi 29.1, fat 36.1, water 46.4, muscle 25.7 and bone 3.6. It's hreat to be able to track my progress in ways other than just scale or bmi! I still really need to work on muscle, which I know. I was pleasantly surprised to see bone mass go up though. I'm moving in two weeks and my new apartment has a fitness center. .. I just can't hardly wait to get my flabby but into it!

Yes, it has metal plates that you stand on with bare feet. I don't know how accurate it is but it seems very consistent and in line with my progress. I just thought it was cool!

Hi. I was sleeved almost 6 months ago and I too was totally addicted to diet pepsi. I was told no carbonation ever. It's really not that difficult. I honestly don't even miss it. Everything changes post op after a while and things you thought you couldn't live without become no big deal, just a distant memory. Good luck
