No weight loss since I got my period...
Seela replied to LessofApril's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
At about 3 weeks or so your body kind of goes into shock and it needs time to catch up. The initial loss of pre and post op usually stops or slows significantly for a bit. Give it w few weeks... it usually comes back with a vengeance! Just part of the process. -
Btw... funny, I just received a letter from my pcp that he will no longer be my pcp. Fine with me... I've been thinking about switching Dr anyway. I'd rather go that route than have him brow beat me and make me feel like crap.

If you can't drink water try watered down broth, you can. Ad plain protein powder, hot tea, add flavored stevia drops, poweraid zero, F2f (Gatorade), jello. .. I promise you'll feel better if you get yourself hydrated. I know it's hard, but you can do it

What I can tell you is that every single one of us have doubts before surgery. It would be weird if you didn't. And the lack of support often comes from concern and being uninformed. The support often comes later, once the fear goes away and success starts to settle in. But not always. Continue to be active here, it's not the same as getting what you need from your family but the support here is priceless. As for selfish? I think we've all been there too, but as a daughter, mom, wife and friend that has gone through this surgery I can tell you I was much more selfish at 110lbs overweight when I couldn't participate in life!

Lol! Yes, it's so totally normal. .. sounds like you're doing great. It gets harder before it gets easier but it's very short lived. My energy is getting better all the time but I'm still not back to normal at 11 weeks out. Hang in there and make sure you stay hydrated. You've got this!

Happy dance! Thanks so much! It's funny I totally have pms and I'm so emotional and it doesn't seem to matter if it's good or bad, it makes me cry. I've been quite the crier since surgery. I'm getting on my own nerves! !

So with the exception of the 3 week stall I've been rockin my sleeve! Between thanksgiving and New year's eve I lost almost 20lbs. Then I started doing Zumba and I've hit a wall. Nothing major but ill be 11 weeks post op tomorrow and I'm just wondering if the exercise has put my body into some kind of shock or if I'm heading into a stall or something. I haven't gone 5 days without losing anything since early on. With regard to stalls , (which I understand are normal), I'm curious about what's typical. I am 5'5 started at about 250lbs. Three week stall with tiny losses until about 6 weeks. Then 5 weeks of non stop awesome loss. Now stuck at 201.2-201.7 lbs. For 5 days. Just curious about your thoughts on my progress and where I should go from here. If I am heading into an actual stall, how long does it usually last at this point? Also, I am about 1 week away from TOM. Thanks

Rockin it, then hit a wall! thoughts please

Well... I decided to fall off the wagon, if you will, and I had three days of wtf am I doing to myself eating. Total self sabotage. Posted about it, cried over it, then did Zumba and got back to basics. Mini 5 day stall broken and this morning I hit ONEDERLAND! Thanks to everyone for your support. I've said it before and I'll say it again... I couldn't do this without all of the suppoget I get here. Thanks -
High yay me!! 198.8... I just made it by the skin of my teeth but... I'll take it!!! 50.2 lbs GONE

Oooh! Congratulations! !! I just hit ONEDERLAND this morning too!! ...

Sorry about the duplicate post.. my apps been doing that a lot lately

I never even spoke to my pcp about because, honestly, I didn't want to be discouraged. I researched it for over 2years and had several appointments with my surgeon. About a week after surgery I called my pcp and said... Btw.. I had a vertical sleeve gastrectomy last week and I'll send you copies of all my labs.

The only thing I don't LOVE about my sleeve...
Seela replied to LipstickLady's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I live in northern California but I haven't owned a jacket or even a heavy sweater for that matter in years. I was always uncomfortably hot. I still don't need a jacket but I now own 3 long sleeve tops and I feel like my temperature is normal now. -

Thanks to those of you who responded. It's such an odd question to ask, isn't it? After my depressing dress shopping experience the other day it's so great to know that this, too, will come in time. -
Where does the time go?

Congratulations and thanks for sharing your awesome progress. I think it's so important for us newbies to be reminded daily that it will happen and it takes time. I'm so proud of you -
Zumba!! !! I love it and you can totally modify it in the beginning so it's not so intense
