Do you feel a lot cold than a non surgery person ?
skinnygirlwithin replied to Simand's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@Jersrose43 My mom said she got them a d i c k's sporting good store - she said you have to actually ask them for it, because they keep them locked up. I dont see the pair that i have on line. But here is a link for d**k's they range from $9 to $30 - the ones i have my mom said were $27 retail (she got them on black friday & paid $20) http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/search/index.jsp?s=D-StorePrice&searchSort=TRUE&origkw=wool+socks&sr=1&kwCatId=&kw=wool+socks&page=1&searchSort=TRUE and this is kind of like the coat i got - i bought it at the outlet but this is a good price (the one i got was $299 and got it at the outlet for $150) http://www.eddiebauer.com/product/down-duffle-coat/20612164/_/A-ebSku_0063727632000030__20612164_catalog10002_en__US?showProducts=111&backToCat=&previousPage=SRC&tab=&color=632 -
Do you feel a lot cold than a non surgery person ?
skinnygirlwithin replied to Simand's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was a year out on Dec 11 - and YES i am FREEZING all the time. Its horrible - i spend more time trying to get warm then actually being warm. So until i get the hubby to move to FL I have invested in some warm clothing items. One i got a very long downfilled coat - i didnt want to spend this kind of money but i looked long and hard and found one that was good up to 20 below - and you know it really does keep me warm (also got very warm mittens - YES mittens they have glove fingers inside) . I got some wool socks (dont put in dryer) these puppies cost over $20 (FOR ONE PAIR OF SOCKS!!!) i asked for them on my christmas list - but WELL worth the $$. i also invested in the little hand & feet warmers (you know what hunters use) yes they have been a LIFE saver! I have not bought yet waiting for a good sale... but they have jeans with flannels inside them. Here is to staying warm!! -

Worst "compliment" you have gotten since surgery
skinnygirlwithin replied to Lacowgirl72's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
HA! I just used this line on Saturday! I didnt tell everyone i had surgery just a few close people... BUT My aunt (who i havent seen in YEARS) saw a post on a public facebook Sleeve sight a year ago(i didnt know it was public till this happen). She im me and asked me why would i post stuff on this sight & if i had surgery & 20 questions on why would i do this to my self etc...I finally I told her i did. I havent talked or seen her in almost a year... Saturday she sees me at a family thing for the holiday & loudly says "OMG could you lose any more weight? there is nothing left of you, boy surgery sure did drop that weight for you & fast" I replied that "yes i had surgery, but surgery is just a tool - the hard work was all me - I choose what i put in my mouth" she said "um no, actually its all surgery - i know a lot of FAT people who had surgery & they cant eat anything" i replied with "I can eat what ever i want, but i chose to be smart about what goes in my mouth, You know, you really should educate yourself before making comments cause I'm sure you didn't mean to sound as rude as you just did" and walked away! -
100 lbs down and the unfortunate random things I've learned plus a few NSVs!
skinnygirlwithin replied to KeeWee's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I have learned this very hard lesson myself. Sadly it was with two co-workers i thought were my very good friends... turns out i was the only one being a friend. I had no idea that losing weight would cost me friends... CRAZY! But your daughter is so right - dont dim your light!! It totally sucks & i am not going to lie & say it doesnt hurt... casue there have been many days where i have gone home crying... but i never let them see me down. Wish you best of luck in your new life!!! -
You look so good! like said above... total stud! Congrats!!!

Your Thanksgiving Dinner Game Plan
skinnygirlwithin replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
I am super proud of myself. I stuck with my game plan - asked my sister in law for a small plate - just about 2-3oz of turkey, taste of mashed, taste of sweet potatoes, a little bit of cauliflower and just a little gravy. I didn't even eat everything on my plate... I felt good when I got up from the table, everyone else was so stuffed & uncomfortable. Friday morning I woke up & lost a pound! it was a great thanksgiving! -

Your Thanksgiving Dinner Game Plan
skinnygirlwithin replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
@BigGirlPanties I thought the same thing when i read the list of food.... that just makes me ill thinking about it LOL and the list of food i have... i wont get through what i put down, thats why i sit next to my husband - he is one of those lucky people that can eat all they want & not gain (yes sometimes i want to smack him) we will be busy all afternoon with our kids football game - so we will get to dinner just as dinner is ready... so no before dinner picky's for this girl - but i love spaghetti squash! I might just have to make that & take it over with us!! SO thankful for my sleeve!!! Happy Turkey day! -
Your Thanksgiving Dinner Game Plan
skinnygirlwithin replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
My game plan is two things 1 - sit next to my hubby 2 - keep doing what i have been doing. I use small plate - i find when i have a big plate i tend to fill it. So by using a small plate, i stick to small amounts and it doesnt look like my plate is empty. My fool plan is a slice of turkey (3 oz), a few veggies, a table spoon of mashed taters, one little taste of sweat potatoes, No roll, no cranberries, no casseroll no stuffing but maybe just a little teaspoon of gravy on my turkey... if there is any thing left on my plate my hubby will eat it before he goes back for 2nds. And for desert i will have a fork full of pumpkin pie - just to taste it. but that will be it. -

skinnygirlwithin replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
