    Mirena slows weight loss?

I have Mirena and so far so good. All MD's I've discussed this birth control with seem confident that it does not cause weight gain.

    # of nights in hospital?

1 night. I was outta there at 7:30 the next morning, and anxious to go home. 1 night seems to work just fine for me, though having a call button with a nurse available for all your needs surely is a nice feature.

    Thoroughly unscientific poll

The nutritionist who works with my doctor suggested 125, and I countered with 135. She agreed that this seemed like a good goal. I was 135 for about 10 minutes at one point in my life and I felt great and liked how I looked. It just squeaks me into the 'normal' BMI category.

    Question for the ladies...TMI

I have an IUD and don't get a period with it. Well, I didn't, anyway! I have a light, regular period right now, and have for a couple days. I'm 2 weeks out from surgery! I figured the weight loss is messing with my hormones, too. Thank goodness for my IUD or else I'd probably be extra fertile right now.
  11. 14 days of Protein shakes to help with the rest of your life. You can do this! We've all been there. My best advise is stay away from food. If I ran into a tempting situation, like coworkers eating my favorite food one day (the bosses ordered in), I just took my break and excused myself when their food arrived so I wouldn't have to just sit there & smell it. Mix up your Protein drinks in a blender with ice and tell yourself it's a milkshake Just say it til you believe it! And then... boom! Surgery day will be here & you will know you have done your part!

    Straws?

I use a straw for almost all drinks, especially Protein shakes. I didn't get that instruction from my doctor.

Tired of hearing I'm too skinny!

I'm still fat but yeah, I agree with you. Maybe I'd smile the first time, but after that, it's really just inappropriate. People really don't need to be commenting on your weight besides 'You look great.'

    Reel me in, sleevers

I want to flail my arms and board the doors to keep people from entering a room to get a Lap-Band. I genuinely don't get people choosing this surgery. They're setting themselves up for failure, no? And the Banders reasoning makes zero sense to me. They like that it's reversible? WTF? Incase i decide I want to be obese again one day? It's safer? Then just don't get anything done! Reel me in, Sleevers....

    Sleeve Anxiety

Don't vomit if you can avoid it. That's the one I've heard. And follow your preop diet. Don't eat sticks. OK, that last one was a joke.

It's not misinformation! Mayo Clinic REALLY stated that it was not an effective stand alone procedure. Allergan REALLY sold the Lap-Band. Now go back over to your Lap-Band swimming pool & throw some more bleach in those tainted waters.

I was opinionated before my surgery too. It just seems that I've recently lost my mind I feel great!!

    Lad band vs sleeve

Your suggestion that my information is based on hearsay & rumor is incorrect. Look it up. I'm not interested in finding the links for you. I'm sure you know where Google is. Mayo Clinic states it's not an effect stand alone procedure. To your second point: LOL. Businesses don't sell their best products when they are performing well. Businesses don't play hot potato with the winning product. Welcome to Business 101. You can keep on floating down the river of DeNial, but it really ticks me off that people would push it on a (from her photos) YOUNG woman to get a Lap-Band. The chances of it working for her long term are slim. Oh, and I don't even understand your point about patients revising from sleeve to Lap-Band. Please clarify and I'll feel free to add more. But generally, when a job is done right the first time, a second surgery isn't needed. I would suggest your conclusions are based on nothing but hearsay and rumor. You don't offer any documentation as to why the Mayo Clinic does not offer banding? Allergan sold the lapband division earlier this month and businesses selling off divisions of their own companies is not a rarity. For all you know they made a profit? So please stick to the facts when posting. And, you won't see anyone revising from the sleeve to back to normal(or the band) now will you?
