No more fitting room EMERGENCIES in my FUTURE!
Sleeved in Seattle replied to A_ReNUDE_me's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Awesome reminder. Yes, this hss happened to me in the States (but no more, dammit!). We were on vacation two weeks ago in Paris and it happened there but that's just cuz Paris ian women are all size 0 and XL there is about a size 8. Biotches. :-) -
Just putting it out there, so 'dirty' little secrets may see the light of day!
Sleeved in Seattle replied to Madam Reverie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I will say that I was happier believing the sleeve would keep me from eating bread or sweets by giving me a miserable upset stomach. It was nice to think that success was less about willpower and more about a purely physical inability to tolerate something. Knowing that it's mostly up to me is disconcerting. That said, I didn't enjoy any of the wine I had in Paris, I swear! Lisa -

Oh you guys, all these confessions are music to my ears. Please lets keep this thread beat-down free?! Today I ate a mojo bar, a luna bar and the chicken from a Lean Cuisine noodle dish. Then I sat in the recliner and read all day. In my defense, a 90-minute karate class nearly killed me last night and I think I broke a toe. -
At 9 weeks I've been completely cleared for any and all workouts (and food). I just don't have my stamina back. Easing into physical activities gradually has never been one of my skills.

Anyone taking Trazadone tablets post op?
Sleeved in Seattle replied to Heather Meyer's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take trazadone every night and it is a bit big but with plenty of water it's not much of a problem. -
*whimper* I just finished a 90-minute beginner's karate class. Which I think was about a month too soon after surgery. I'm not going to be able to move tomorrow.

Good luck! I am so happy to never have to worry about getting stuck with the band. It's like a huge cloud has lifted from my life. -
Bands to Sleeves less successful
Sleeved in Seattle replied to Mid West's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I've heard this too, and it does frighten me a bit, but so did living at 200+ lbs, so I'm willing to take my chances. I've read that revisions are less likely to loose their total amount, but haven't been able to tell if that's to "normal" (i.e., chart) weight or some other chosen weight. I'm already past 50% now, and while I'm happy, I don't have plans to settle for 165. -
I've moved on from cottage cheese, but I would add a bit of water to it to make it more liquid, then sort of mash it around a bit. I also added unflavored protein powder, so the water was really necessary to keep it from being a wallpaper-paste consistency.

lump sensation in my throat
Sleeved in Seattle replied to ElyQuint's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hate to say, but I've been reading a lot about reflux the last few days and the changing voice, the lump, a sore throat - they can all be symptoms of reflux. I had stopped taking my omeprazole for a few weeks but restarted it yesterday. Hoping for some improvement. Of course, the ENT would be the best diagnostician. -

Last year in Europe I think I ate my (ever increasing) weight in Nutella. This year, all I did was hold up a 15-lb. jar. -

My new NSV: My husband doesn't know me anymore
Sleeved in Seattle replied to gamergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Love it! It's like being newlyweds all over again. Congratulations to both of you! -
Thanks for asking! Paris was great, the eating was a bit of an issue. They don't do many processed foods over there and I had a hard time sticking to my surgeon's soft food orders. I ate a lot of eggs, cheeses, yogurt, and Atkins bars then made the mistake of having a bite of a palmier pastry - my husband decided he was going to eat one every day (he's 6'3" and has always been skinny). I had a couple of bites the next day and then the next until I ate an entire one on the flight home. Bad Lisa! I tried some bread and some wine but didn't have any desire for them (thank god!). The bad part was finding out I *could* eat pretty much anything. I don't think I'll confess that at my 3-month checkin! The good part is that today I'm 5 lbs. less than when we left. The other bad part was thinking I looked good and getting over there to find I was too big for even XL in French clothing. Rather disconcerting. No plans to move there anytime soon! :-D

Just finished day 2 of my return to strength training after two months off post surgery (and Paris!). Yesterday was upper body, today was a combo of bosu squats, leg/calf presses, shoulder presses and tricep work. It's a bit horrifying how much strength I've lost in a relatively short amount of time. :-( I ate an Oh Yeah bar after the workout, thinking it would be a good mix of carbs and Protein to refuel, but within 10 minutes I started cramping up and had to dash to the bathroom. Guess I need to find something easier to digest?

I love CI, but the use of heavy cream - do you really think it's necessary? And GamerGirl, I would happily pay you handsomely to mail me food packages. Do you ever travel to Seattle? I'd set you up in a fully equipped kitchen for as long as I could trap, er I mean, visit with you. :-D Lisa
