    My big fat bucket list

Oh, and I'd like some nutella. Just a taste. And have it be enough.

    My big fat bucket list

I want to go for a run without feeling like a sweaty dying mess. I want to walk into a room and not be the biggest one there. I want to go out to dinner and eat as little as my thin friends. I want to ride my bike around Lake Washington multiple times a week like I used to. I want knee high boots. I want to be strong and confident. I want to enjoy hiking uphill (that's all we have in Washington State!). I want to not feel like my husband should be ashamed of his fat and dumpy wife. I want to have sexy times anywhere in the house. I want to not feel ashamed about the way I look. I want to not judge myself as a bad person because I'm fat. I want to be happy at whatever weight I end up, whether I stop right now or continue losing all the way to my goal.

    Disappointed

Ugh, getting fluids at the hospital is never fun, but ain't it amazing how much better you feel? And 17 lbs. in two weeks? I'd kill for that! Or lop off part of my thigh, anyway. You go girl!

    Im freaking out

I think every one of us had that initial "buyer's remorse" within the first few days, and one thing that helped me (well, didn't stop me from complaining really, but nevermind ), is that fat cells hold estrogen. When you're losing weight quickly and squeezing those fat cells dry, all that estrogen starts floating around free again and messing with our tiny little brains. I kept telling my husband that, at least, as a way of apologizing for being a whinging wreck for the first few weeks. I think your video was a great idea - getting all that stuff out of your head sounds like it definitely helped!

    Did I mess up bad?

I did pretty poorly on the presurgical diet as well, but once I was sleeved it was much easier to a. not eat and b. eat only what I was restricted to (and it was a very restrictive 8 weeks post surgery!). The surgery and recovery will force you to conform to the rules, for the most part (see the thread on "dirty little secrets" for the other 5% of the time!). Good luck!
  6. You guys! You're making me crave candy corn. Which I don't even like! I woke up in the middle of the night last night thinking about Halloween candy and what I could do to 1.keep it out of the house until the last moment possible and 2. find the worst possible candy so I wouldn't want any. (Tho that has never worked in the past.) and 3. if fun-size reese's peanut butter cups had any protein.

    Band 2 seeve today. FAILURE

Bummer! But enjoy the relief of having the band gone! No more getting stuck, hooray!

    Eggs!

Yeah, my husband is unable to grasp the idea of "soft" scrambled eggs. The birk. Oh wait, I guess I could cook them ... Nah.

    Eggs!

Oh man, I've been a unhappy for the last two days after having scrambled eggs and lean Italian chicken sausage. Had a small portion Sunday night, spent the night feeling stuck and queasy. Tried again for lunch Monday, and they were outright rejected. I still have the sore throat. Bleah.

    lump sensation in my throat

Two painkillers would cure a lot of my problems!

    Eggs!

One last response? :-) I found poached worked well, scrambled are still a bit difficult to tolerate at 10 weeks. Good luck ... and enjoy!

    Hiccups

Stomach. Please. Stop. I get it, 3 oz. of tonight's scrambled egg and chicken sausage was too much. I promise I'll never be so thoughtless again. Just give me a break from the yerping.

    Hiccups

Ok then. Tried leftovers for a late breakfast and I feel like I'm back in lapband land and stuck! WTF?

    Dramatic post.

Goofball. You may have lost the weight but not the sense of humor! Congrats on that. :-)

    11 Months down 131 pounds

Wow, awesome results! Is it weird thinking of yourself as skinny? Never a word I've used for myself.

Pre op diet and feeling nauseous

Have you been trying hot or warm liquids? Sometimes they can help to calm your tummy. For me it was all the acid churning around in there that suddenly had nothing to do but make me nauseous. It helped knowing why (sort of!). I was a super big baby when it came to nausea, so I feel for you!
  17. So excited for you! This is the start of something (less) big. :-)

    Starving on Pre-op

The preop diet is awful, and getting thru all the withdrawals from caffeine, sugar, carbs is a btch-and-a-half, but it is soooo worth it! Keep your mind on the end game and if that doesn't work get out of the house, get away from the kitchen, go DO something. All of you, I'm so proud of you for starting this process. And you should be too!

    Pointless Public Information Announcement...

I *did* eat at least that much last year. I was in Paris for the first time, couldn't find Peanut Butter and decided to give nutella a try. Lord what a mistake. A delicious delicious mistake. I didn't stop eating for about 6 months.

    Pointless Public Information Announcement...

I know - you're why I tried the Fage in the first place! :-)

    Pointless Public Information Announcement...

This too shall pass. :-) I've actually regained my tolerance for chocolate Protein powder, which I thought would never happen. I may have broken up with Fage yogurt tho ...

    I'm Afraid of Bread...

I make a loaf of raisin almond breakfast bread for my annoyingly athletic and skinny husband every week. It's my penance and my get out of jail free card. No one can yell at me for anything if I make it, have to smell it baking and don't eat any.
  23. Love that! I feel like there's a lot of those in the world these days! :-)
  24. Oh god, that hiding a bag thing speaks to me ... much too loudly.

    NSV!

Congrats! And just think: your size 20s will never get as comfy and worn as your 26s because you'll be shrinking out of them in just a few weeks.
