Polar has some nice ones and it's good to get one that will ignore others around you. I had the F5 for years.

You guys are so entertaining. And I want to hear gossip! :-)

Hey Jane - I'd go shopping with you! Levis has some curvy fit skinny jeans that I live in and I bet would look good on you. I'm still consignment shopping and there are some really good ones in Seattle and on the eastside. I can't remember if you're up north a bit, but if you're interested in Seattle I'll send you a list. Oh how I've missed you all! Between new job and this new site, I've been feeling very cut off from all you folks I look to for guidance ... or amusement. And Alex, I am a producer/site manager so I do have pity on you. "It's not a bug, it's a feature!" Lisa

Hello. My Name Is Revs And I'm A Carboholic And Hungry!
Sleeved in Seattle replied to Madam Reverie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey Revs - I usually am between 800-1000 calories but I'm only 5'4" and older so I've found lower numbers work better for me. I'm finally at the point where I can tolerate shakes again so I have one every morning - unjury, PB2, blueberries and Fiber powder (a godsend). A bit of skim milk in my tea an hour later will hold me til noon. lunch is usually less than 3 oz. of chicken or chicken sausage - whatever the leftover Protein of last night's dinner is. I've been having either an oh yeah good grab bar or an ounce or two of turkey Jerky around 2 or 3. That'll hold me thru a workout or run then dinner is chicken or lamb or eggs. Today I was utterly stupid and ate a cookie that I'll be paying for for days but I try to stick to grapes or cheese if I need something between workout and dinner. You should get on My Fitness Pal and see what peeps are eating. Or one of the "what I ate today" threads. Consider it more of the research you love. :-) Lisa -
November fitness challenge
Sleeved in Seattle replied to Butterthebean's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Step away for a couple of weeks and I'm all sorts of behind the times! I'm only down 2 lbs. in weight over the last two weeks, but clothes are a bit looser since I've upped my weight-lifting amounts by 10 lbs across the board since the beginning of the month. Bike: total of 50 miles so far. Run: I'm still doing intervals, but up to 3 mins of running/1 minute brisk walk. I've only made it up to 1.5 miles, but I don't want to hurt my knee or hips any more than absolutely necessary. I've only been running on the treadmill at the gym, after weight-lifting and lord is it boring. -

Has anyone tried the unjury cheese sauce?

I ordered some last week and am waiting impatiently. :-) -
For me there is still a fine line between having a taste and eating it all. That makes me an addict, so I try not to have trigger food in the house. But on Halloween there was a potluck at work. I ate the fresh fruit. And an Oreo. And then made sure to walk past the table three more times that day for one more Oreo. I just can't be around free food, it seems. I'm so scared of failing at this. I love the results so far, but this is the easy part, the rapid weight loss part I'm good at. It's the gradual return to eating anything I see that is my fear. That's what I get out of this place: the knowledge that yes it's a struggle but success is possible.

November fitness challenge

Yesterday was nothing but a bit of Costco walking and pain meds for my hip. Today is a trial bike commute (I hope!) and sailing. Details to follow. -

Day 1: 4.5 miles of walking. Super painful hips by evening however, not sure whether to blame the walk or Thursday night's attempt at running. I have bursitis in both hips and I'm worried this flare up was caused by the run. Color me not happy. :-( -
Zomg! Why didnt you guys tell me about thi?s?

You do know that Oberto is based in Seattle? As in, the factory outlet is just up the road from us. :-) -
This is more of a whine than a rant, so prepare yourself. I started a new job on Monday. I'd been consulting and working from home for the last 3 years, then got laid off a few weeks before surgery in July. So I'm used to managing my own day, getting things done ad needed but moving around a lot, not just planted in front of the laptop. Now, I'm in a tiny office with 3 other people and spend too much time planted on my butt in front of a laptop. I go out a walk a mile or two at lunch, and either walk or do weightlifting after work, but that's it at work. And how my stomach been complaining! I'm used to eating a meal and moving around, not being chained to my desk all day. That and the fact that I have a crappy car commute is killing me. I haven't been losing weight, I'm in a stall and pretty soon it's going to start raining and it won't stop until July 5. I really want to start bike commuting again but I can't find anyone yet who knows if there are showers available, if there's secure bike parking ... and since I'm not an FTE it's likely that whatever ammenities there are will not be offered to me. Did I mention that my stomach hurts? This job was the first interview I went on and theyade an offer 3 hours after the meeting! I'd figured it was for practice! The work is ok, but the sitting is killing me. That and all the damn'd candy. Any suggestions? :-)

OH! And I ran last night!!!!!! Not much, but I really really want to start, and so I did (stressed sugar imbibing at work that day may have helped the run as well as the weights :-)). -

I walked 2 miles at lunch. This weekend I'll figure out the bike commute - there was a trailer truck on fire on the side of the highway in rush hour last night, further cementing my zeal to never again use my car to get to work. I upped some of my weights last night at the gym - fueled either by road rage, sugar or increased strength. -
Sorry, I was off torturing the godly with my rendition of "Dog Bless America."

You go, girl! But please don't do the Brad dance. -
I lurve tomatillos, but have gotten out of salsa making since surgery. Your recipe looks well worth getting back into at least one pre-surgery habit! :-)

I *really* want to do this - I'm in the midst of the 3-month stall and need to kick things up a notch. I'm starting a new job on Monday so not sure how life is going to shake out, but I can commit to upping my weights 10 lbs., biking 100 miles, and 15 hours of walking. -
For protein *bars* I really like the Oh Yeah! brand. But you're too early for bars.

Bariwise hot chocolate. Syntrax ice tea. I have one or both nearly every day.

I succumbed at the grocery store for the first time since starting, and bought a scone. Come home to find out it is 600 calories, not much Protein, and I ate it over two days. Oh man, it was good. But not *that* good. -
I just got back from 2 weeks in Paris, where I felt like the most enormous and dumpy thing on the street for wearing too big loose-fit boot cut jeans nearly every day. So before I even left for home I ordered two styles of skinny Levis from Amazon, which were just delivered. And guess whose fat ass fits into a size 12 skinny jeans? Yup. ME! I'm still bigger than all the size 0 Parisians I saw but at least I'm fashionable.
