-
uh-no... I could not take it, the family was cooking on the grill. I did it. I had an entire brat sausage link. I ate it slow, and chewed chewed chewed. I am really really FULL. I feel so quilty. My surgery was only on 3/20. This was about 15 min. ago, so far so good. But I am not going to do that again. I see the doc on Friday for my 2nd post op, and was hoping for stage 3. This was way too much.. fingers crossed.

Protein Requirements for the Long Haul
MaggieMae replied to PGee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Same here. -
Yeah, I dont feel like I have much energy either. Surgery 3/20. I dont want to do anything. I am tired. I am doing better. Back to work. But when I get home, I just want to watch TV. I feel done. I am not working out or walking yet, No carbs at all, unless there in yogurt (yes there is some) but I am hungry and tired. UGH!
-
yep, me too. Surgery was only 3/20... most of my discomfort has changed from strong ab pain (like to much working out) to a "twinge" in the incision that my stomach came out of. and yes, doc said that had the most trauma and would be sensitive. I find myself holding my tummy sometimes and pushing it in. (weird) Its not bad, but it is there,

Interesting... my doc doesnt want me to start vitamin until 4 weeks. I feel like I really need them. I am tired. (kinda lazy feeling) I am tired just drying my hair... I dont think I am getting in enough protein. close, but not really there. Jerseygril, are you taking chewalbe or liquid vitamins ???? Maybe try another brand for now. If you doc wants you to start taking them, maybe another kind just for now ??? FEEL Better!!!
-
For me it was slow and steady. I had surgery 3/20. Craving all the bad food that got me here. But I am ignoring it. MOve around, walk around, drink something every 10 min or so. and work on your protein. drink drink drink... but slow.
-
@ lisi287. Wow really. You can eat that stuff already. I was done on 3/20 and I can only have foods the same consistency as applesauce. @jerseygrl09. Are you sure you gonna have a P &J sandwich. sounds too heavy to have so early.

Jerseygrl...... Questions 1. Can u Sleep On your side after gastric SLEEVE I finally can. I am a side sleeper, I tried in the hospital but it was a no go. but at home... yeahhhh. getting up took some practice, I had to use all my arm strength to push myself up. 2. Y does it hurt when sipping liquids I dont have pain when I sip, but if I take too much or too cold, it do get some pain and feel like I need to stretch my upper body, to help it all go down. 3. Is my stomach supposed 2 make werid noises.? My stomach and other things were grumbling very loud. I think it was hunger and gas... 4. How long till all this gas leaves u? I heard some take Gas-X. You got to walk around A LOT. keep moving that helped me. but I still think I got some air in there, my surgery was 3/20 5 .burping hurts y? Yes, burping, sneezing (OMG), coughing (don't want too) Sounds like normal stuff to me.. well, sounds like me!

Yes, I think we all had those moments of "why".... But I am only 8 days post-op, saw my doc, and I lost 11 lbs. I went shopping last night, and I feel much better. It is amazing what a few days can do. Keep the hope.
-
Big Congrats JerseyGrl.....what a big step you are taking. I am only 1 wk out. I was sore.. I did not get any sleep at the hospital (typical) I did better once I got home. Just remember that this is a positive step towards your (our) new life... yeahhhh

Congrats! I am almost 1 wk. I was in the hospital 2 days. They did not make me walk around. The nurses were so proud of me just sitting up and walking to the bathroom, I did not walk. My doc was very very mad, and made me stay. ha aha. THe hospital was LOUD. I was desk to the nurses station, talk talk talk, and next to the medicine cabinet (I guess) slam slam slam. So glad to be home. -
mine was 3/20. I am still bloated. I think that is where my discomfort is. I went thru... (was this the right thing) ???? I am sure it is for me, becuz I did not fix it before. Tomorrow will be 1 wk. Seeing the doc on Friday. I cant wait for the next stage of food. I AM HUNGRY! But I think it is 2 wks of clears for me. UGH... I thought I would be full. But not yet, I guess I still need to heal. I wish I could have Protein shakes.... yummmmm. anything but broth, Jello, sorbet...broth, jello, sorbet, broth, jello, sorbet. We all need to hang in there. We have made it this far. this must be one of the hardest parts. I have met people who have had the sleeve, and they say they would do it again. IT CHANGED THEIR LIVES!!! That is all I keep repeating to my self.

Anyone starting 6 month diet in october?
MaggieMae replied to kimclow08's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is interesting how the doctors office's are so different. At my docs, we schedule EVERYTHING out for 6 months. I too only have my doctors copays. thank goodness. that is a huge savings. -
It might be a bit different for some. My insurance wants me to see a nutritionist for 6 months, blood work, sleep test, cardio test, meet with the surgeon, endoscopy, 2 support groups, personal diet history letter, psychological evaluation and test ????, chest xray, pulmonary clearance, all kinds of "stuff".. ha ha, I guess it will help the time go. My first visit was 9/15. Got a ways to go for me. Good luck to you.

Will you lie about the surgery?
MaggieMae replied to BigD35's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Perhaps you guys can help me. My first thought is NOT to tell anyone (besides hubby and kids of course) My problem is...I am a Curves owner. We sell wellness! Our Curves complete works if you stick to it. I have ladies loosing right and left. For my own head games reasons... (which I do not understand) I will not stick to my own plan. So I have decided to have the sleeve and use this sleeve as a tool to help me on curves complete when I am ready to eat normally. I am afraid of what this can do to my business. MY BMI is 50. That is not good for my business either. (health without saying)... I can see my members saying.. why didn't you "just" do your own diet???? My first thoughts are to keep it private, it is none of their business. UGH! Do you see where I am coming from. Not sure if there is a right and wrong with this. -
So how are you doing? and how many days has it been?

Approved for Surgery - Now I'm Freaking Out
MaggieMae replied to LynRN's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
LynRN... Congrats on be approved and you already have a date. WOW, November 25. I am so jealous. I am one of those that insurance needs you to jump through hoops and wait 6 months. I am in my second month, with a lot of thinking and freaking out to do. I wish mine was just around the corner so I can get this started. I would think your thoughts are so normal. Just look how healthy you are going to be for your young children. You will be able to play with them and do things with them instead of making excuses or saying your tired.. blah blah blah. This will be great for them too! They will have a happy healthy mommy. Congrats again. -
