    Chickened out- Am I crazy??

hey kat, I can totally relate to you. I was soooo scared. I am a single mother with 2 children. I kept thinking if I died who would take care of them..I was terrified of going under,I had never done that before but, I realized just like some of the other posters said,i was more prone to dying from obesity complications then on the table. I made it through fine. No complications only successes!!! talk to your dr. about you concerns and take a little more time to feel more comfortable about the surgery..good luck to you..

Need info on Dr's Conroe TX

my doctor is dr. st. laurent. His office is located at methodist willowbrook on 249. The surgery center(journey lite) is on 45 south around gallery furniture. sorry I cant remember the exit. It is about 25 minutes south of conroe. I was self pay as well. His seminar was free, his first consultation was 150.00.The surgery was 15,000. The fills are free for life if you do them at the surgery center. If you do them at the office it is 40.00. His follow up visits at his office which is once a month and are free for the first year and I believe are 40.00 there after. The only other expense is the nutritionist which is mandatory for 6 months. She is 250. for all 6 visits or 50.00 a month. He is a GREAT doctor and he has a WONDERFUl staff. I could not be happier.I hope this is helpful..good luck to you!!

  7. hello, I was banded on tuesday and returned to work on thursday. My doctor said it was ok as long as I took it easy. I felt a bit tired and a little week, but overall I think it helped my healing process to get up and move. Check with you doctor first to see what he thinks. Good luck to you!!

new banded on june 19 2007

Hi Josie..I was banded on the 19th as well..I guess we are "banded sisters":) The gas was pretty bad for me as well. The huger pains would come and go but are pretty good right now. I started on my creamy diet today and that has help out so much. Who would of thought that baby cereal would taste so good. I felt like I was eating a steak!!!! Hang in there, You will feel great soon.Try eating sugar free popcicles when the hunger hits. That kind of takes the edge off a bit..Good luck..talk to you soon

    Hello, 18 days to go!

hi heidi, My name is lesley and a fellow texan:) I was banded last tuesday.I was so scared! I only had surgery as a toddler so I was very nervous! Once I got there all the nerves went out the window. My doctor and his staff was so wonderful an put me right at ease. Recovery was very easy. I went back to work a day and a half later. I have lost 14 lbs already!! If you have a questions, please ask!!! GOOD LUCK
