    Gas Gas Gas! ugh!

Try generic Prilosec for your acid. They really helped me a lot. I don't quite know what to do about your gas other than walking. Good luck.
  2. My family was a bit concerned for my safety (drug lords/wars). Once I told them I had done my research, they were fine with my decision. I went by myself and had a great experience with ready4achange. I called my family when I arrived at the hotel and when I returned to the US. I have been honest about where I went to anyone who asks. So far noone has given me a bad time.
  3. No comments at all. He didn't even greet us. Still I was glad to be back in the US. Good luck on your weight loss journey.
  4. Not necessarily, I was on liquids for 3 weeks and now I'm on mush. I was sleeved on 8/6/13. Today is 1 month and I didn't lose as much as you said the suggested weight loss is supposed to be. Everyone is different. I have lost a total of 18 lbs since my surgery. I stalled at weeks 2 and 3, only today did I have any weight loss. For those of us that are slowly losing the weight, remember this is a journey. The weight didn't magically appear. It took years to get us into the condition where we had to have surgery to save our lives. Try not to get discouraged. Weight loss will happen!
  5. Gas-X strips and lots of walking. Good luck.

    Mashes potatoes

Sleved on 8/6/13. I tried mashed potatoes for the 1st time the other day, however, they gave me horrible heartburn. Good luck with whatever you decide.

    Fecal Impaction... tmi... HELP!

I just ordered a "squatty potty" from www.squattypotty.com. It is a stand that fits in front of the toilet. You place your feet on the stand and is places your body position in the "perfect" pooping position. I saw it on the Dr. Oz show a few months ago. I hope this helps. good luck.
  8. I was sleeved on 8/6/13. I am finally off all liquids and on the pureed/ mushy stuff. I did try to eat a scrambled egg this morning with ketchup. Sigh... not a good Idea for me today, it took 3 hours for the feeling of egg stuck in my chest to go away. I wasn't able to drink water either. Finally about 30 min ago the feeling went away. Guess I'm not ready for that yet. I will stick to yogurt and cottage cheese and protien shakes.

    Blood Drive?

I didn't see anything on the Red Cross website that prohibited us from donating blood. I would double check by calling the Red Cross for more information.

    Geez - Like I DIDN"T already know that ?

Tastes tend to change after surgery so don't over do it on before surgery purchases. Also, pack lightly. No need to bring lots of clothing. I didn't use 3/4 of the stuff I packed. I do recommend pajama bottoms or a pair of shorts to wear with your hospital gown. (keeps the drafts on the backside to a minimum). Popsicles are awesome. Oh, speaking of popsicles... are you staying at the Marriott? If so, DO NOT EAT THE POPSICLES THEY PROVIDE!!! They taste horrible. Instead spend the money for the ones at the store in the lobby. Bring small bills for tips if you plan on tipping the drivers or waiters. Not everyone has change for the dollar.

    August sleevers?

Everyone is different. I go through times when I am really hungry and times when I am stuffed. Are you drinking plenty of fluids? Sometimes I feel hungry, but, what I needed was water. My body gets its signals mixed. If you haven't eaten in a while it might be true hunger. Try drinking water, wait 10-20 minutes, If you are still hungry eat a small amount. Also, be aware of head hunger. Thats the hard one for me. I was sleeved on 8/6/13

Sorry it took me so long to respond to your post. Not really sore unless I went down a bumpy road in the car or turning over in bed. I'm feeling great. Trying to walk daily, twice if I my schedule allows it. That is the main thing to remember after surgery (for gas) is walk, walk and walk some more. Bring gas-x strips and chapstick to the hospital. I know you will like Dr. Garcia and his staff they were awesome. Good luck to you on your journey.

I used Dr. Garcia as well. Ready4achange has financing options too!
  15. Walk, walk, walk and walk some more. This will help the gas pains. Sorry about the diarrhea. Not something I have to deal with.
  16. Wow! according to your formula I need 99 grams per day. Don't know if I can get that much in a day!

    To easy

It was nice to meet you at the hospital and hotel. Glad to hear you are doing so well. I was sleeved by Dr. Garcia on 8/6 and I have been doing great too. No issues so far. I am so pleased for you.
  18. Messing with any medication without doctor supervision is a BIG NO NO; especially heart medication! Please consult with your cardiologist!!!! (I work for a cardiologist) If your husband doesn't want to see the doctor, make an appointment for him and "go for a drive" with a short detour to the doctor. :0) I wish you the best on both your continued journeys.
  19. Definitely go see your doctor. I hope you fell better soon.
