I'm six weeks out and have lost 35 lbs. I still can't reach my protein goal - nor my water intake goal. For a couple weeks I obsessed about it and then it hit me one day: Just do the best I can do and stop stressing over it. Now I eat what I can and I stop when I need to. I take two gummy vitamins a day. I drink all I can. When I've made a food mistake, my body tells me and I have to stand and walk around till it passes - or throw up. I'm not going to stress about stalls. I'm just going to do my best and not worry about how much or little I'm losing. At 500-600 calories a day, it will come off. I hate to hear people upset about how little weight they are losing. I can't remember the last time I was able to lose even ten pounds before surgery. I'm going to be happy with every pound.

I had reflux. My doctor prescribed Prilosec. I take one every other day. No reflux!! I get hiccups after eating... Just a few. Talk to your doctor about the reflux.

The Beans I had to thin down with milk when cooking. The Swai fish I fried stovetop in Pam. Worked for me. Sorry you had problems. I ate very little at a time, very slowly KimberlyU sleeved 7/24/13

Sleeved July 24. Trying different foods when I feel bored with my usual. Ate a Lunchable with turkey and cheddar. Took me two meals to finish it but it worked. Cottage cheese, eggs, Swai, American singles and refried Beans have helped spice up my Protein shake diet. All in 1/4 cup servings. Getting in Water is a struggle. I take chewable Centrum Silver. Curious about trying liquid multi Vitamins and adding to my shakes. Anyone try that? Heartburn every day-Dr put me on Prilosec. Pre-op 231. Today 216. Slow and steady it goes I guess. These pics inspire me. I'm 11 days post op and have lost only 4 lbs in those 11 days. I know it will get better when I'm able to put in the time at the gym. Not gonna get down about it-I know it will come off. Congrats in your awesome loss! KimberlyU sleeved 7/24/13 -

I'm 11 days out and experienced the same discomfort with drinking. The easiest to get down was unjury chicken Protein drink. Warm and soothing. It gets easier. hang in there. KimberlyU sleeved 7/24/13 -

Sleeved on July 24 and I'm just now able to do more than sips. I noticed yesterday the tightening in my chest is gone while sipping. I really miss using a straw. I'm not getting my Water in every day. That is a struggle but will get better. KimberlyU sleeved 7/24/13 -
I having the problem of not being able to drink Post-op

Unjury chicken flavored protein mix. That has been my lifesaver. Heat a coffee cup of water 60 seconds and add one scoop. Goes down smooth. My doctors office sells it but you can find it online. Read the directions-it's important to not get your water too hot or it clumps up. -
I've used Visalus protein shake mix exclusively. It's the best tasting drink I've found. Only 12g protein to 8-12 ounce milk/soy milk. 90 calories before milk. I add fruit to change it up. I've not read anyone else using it.

I'm 45 with arthritis and degenerative disc disease in the lower back. Had a hip replacement at 43. Not able to exercise enough after surgery- I packed on the pounds. I was sleeved July 24, 2013 and am down 14 lbs but patiently waiting for when I can really feel it in my clothes. I worry about being able to meet protein and water intake. That is my daily struggle for now.
