So today I had the pleasure of having my hubby's company on my run(I run when he's at work usually) Both kids are at school so we had a nice time joking just being fun! Well we got home and he took this funny picture of me and I said hmmm "I want to put this on FB but look at my fat stomach!" Well after 10 seconds of soul searching I realized "screw that, to others it may look like fat/flab, but to me it's the loose skin I have to show for all my hard work, I'm gonna post that dang picture and not care what others think!" HUGE VICTORY for this over critical self doubter(which is actually why I bought the shirt, the caption aimed at my own self deprecating self! Today I tagged my 6'2" hubby in that picture bc his 5' tall wife not only kept up, but she out ran him! Yayyyy! Thank you sleeve for giving me a chance at life again!

Haha thanks! It's a Nike tank and I bought it at Dick's Sporting Goods! I got another one that's orange and it says Miles Ahead Worries Behind. Love them both!

Thank you! I'll be having a panniculectomy, which is just skin removal of the lower belly area. Later down the road after we have perhaps another child I'll have a tummy tuck, but this will make a huge difference for me bc it's super uncomfortable!

I was sleeved November 20th 2013 I don't recall my visits bc they were super fast like all within one months time, bc I'm self pay so insurance didn't require anything of me...I'm sure my last appt was just details of the surgery and checking to see if I had lost any weight on the preop diet...when is the big day for you!? -

Wow you have amazing results, huge congrats!!! Your stomach is awesome!!!!! Sadly mine looks like a deflated pillsbury dough boy :/ I am proud regardless, but so happy my doctor said he can do my Panni this summer!!!! I need to lose 10# more! We still want to have one more child so plastics are a few years out but getting rid of that huge piece will make exercise so much more comfortable!!!! Best of luck with the rest of your journey!!! -

We have a similar path, I was sleeved Nov 20, started at 211 down to 146, my hair loss started at 3 months exactly and has pretty much stopped thankfully! I cut my hair last week and now I can barely tell it's thin, the layering really helped! Here's a pic of my hubby and I last night at a wedding then I'll throw in a preop photo I just found on hubby's phone bc it shocked the crap out of me, I don't have many preop pics of me bc I got very camera shy towards the "end" So proud to be a Nov 2013 Sleever! -
My Lunch: A Pictorial Attempt To Show You Life Will Be Normal

I'm gonna try to post the bariatric pal recipe I created so you can see the stats, I usually eat abt half maybe 3/4 of the sauce tho I could drink it, it's that yummy! Also I forgot I add sesame oil too but just a tiny bit bc it's powerful! -

I take a short cut and used a prepared one and add to it...I use 1tbsp Wegmans Thai Peanut Sauce, 1tsp Reduced Sodium Soy, couple shakes of hot sauce and a touch of rice wine vinegar, I don't finish all of it but it's only 20cals. Not bad to me! -
Aww this made me tear up! I sure appreciate the support! We all are in this together! I have quite a large pannis (lower tummy) that hangs way down, but I'm wearing some pretty right pants for running otherwise is very painful, so think of it as spanx lol! Sadly, I can't wear any bathing suits bc if hangs below them, which sucks bc I finally fit into my old ones, yet still need to wear shorts or a skirt, thankfully I'm on my way to a panniculectomy this summer! You will get there too! I just got over a huge stall where I only lost a few pounds last month, and very few the month prior, it's so hard, but these NSV are what really keep is going when the scale won't cooperate! Hang in there! Can't wait to here about you running someday!

Yay for you! How did it go? I hope you are resting comfortably! Can't wait to hear from ya! Are you at Innova or Potomac/Sentara? I saw Dr Halmi Monday for my 6 month appt and he reached his hand out to shake it as a hello/greeting type thing and I said "no way I'm hugging you, you've changed my life!" He is by far the best doctor of any kind I've ever had, tho my OB office is outstanding lol! Congrats on your new life!!! -

It was in the juniors section on the sleeveless/tank too rack! Bright red stands right out! The shorts are hard to see but are super comfy pull on(ie elastic waist band) black lace from the womens dept, entire outfit was $23 perfect for and ever changing wardrobe! I hope you guys find it! -
Ps thanks guys! It's slowing way down for me so this was a big fist pump moment lol!

Someone already explained but it's non scale victory...for me these mean a lot especially when the scale isn't moving as fast as it once was! Clothes becoming too big, mental hurdles overcome(as in this case), maybe even compliments from friends or family! This was a big a-ha moment for me!

Aww thanks, i struggle to see changes so every few months I have to do a side by side! I'm 5' tall for reference so pretty short and stout I've got somewhere between 20&30 lbs left to lose...my doc said if I lose another 10 he can do my panniculectomy which will be a huge relief I have a ton of excess skin in my tummy, he thinks about 10#. -
