Hi Guys, I also take metformin for PCOS. The chocolate pudding idea sounds great. The only thing someone should check before breaking or crushing the tablets is to make sure you are not taking the extended release version of the medication. If you break the ER you can get a large dose of medication at once. Brenda -
I've read alot about pre-op diets. What is the purpose of trying to lose a bunch of weight in a short amount of time on very low calories? It just dosen't seem like a safe thing to be doing right before haivng surgery. Dosen't your body need the nutrients to heal? Or is there something to do with the anesthesia or something? Your input is much appreiciated. Thanks!!

Thanks everyone! It all makes some sense to me now. I am in the very begining stages of the process. I am one of those people who has to have all the facts in place before I make a decision. I am sure I will have many more questions! Brenda:biggrin1: -
Hi all! Brenda from Milwaukee here. I recently made the decision to consider banding for myself. I have a pretty complicated medical history. About 5 years ago I had surgery for a Pituitary tumor (Cushing's Disease). We "accidently" discovered I had Cushing's when I was being worked-up for PCOS. The pit surgery failed and I ended up having my adrenal glands removed. That should have resulted on weight loss but I am just as heavy as before. My endo suspects that I have PCOS underlying the Cushing's. I have insulin resistance. I have sleep apnea and use a CPAP. I have a BMI of 54. I have recently developed asthma-like breathing problems. I'm really lucky in the fact that my health insurance policy specifically states that WLS is covered. I've been looking through the info on the boards here for the last week or so and have found the info very helpful. I have chosen an MD (Dr Chua) and have signed-up for the next seminar. So here I go!:clap2:
