I have been overweight since Kindergarten. I was always bigger than the other kids and my weight has never been under 200 the last 10-15 years. I thought I was fat but healthy, as I was running half marathons and running long distances. What I didn't know is that I was detroying my joints due to running long distances with an extra 100 pounds on my frame. Now, I am on Celebrex for joint pain and back pain. I also was recently diagnosed with hypertension which is scary. I don't want to be diagnosed with any additional health issues, so I decided I needed to get back control of my weight, my health and my life. I chose the sleeve (VSG) in June 2013, and am scheduled for surgery August 14, 2014.
