  1. I've lost 71 lbs so far and have been lucky enough to not have any loose skin yet. I moisurize every day with a good lotion and try to use a sugar scrub every other day.

    Terrified to lose my hair....

I'm a little over 3 months out and have been losing A LOT of hair over the past week. Luckily, I've always had super thick hair to the point where I would have to get it thinned out. It looks like I'll be saving some money by not having to get that done for a while. I'm not worried, though, because everyone says it will grow back. If it gets too bad then I'll just get a sassy new haircut.

  7. I've lost 70 lbs so far and everyone tells me that I look younger.
  8. I had my surgery July 26th and the past several weeks my energy level has been non-existent in the afternoons. Come 2:00 I'm so tired that I have a hard time staying awake at work. I had a B12 shot when this all started and have not noticed a difference at all. Has anyone else experienced this?

    1. I confess that I don't exercise as much as I should either. 2. I confess that I sometimes miss being able to eat like I used to. 3. I confess that after lising 70 lbs. my biggest thrill was being able to shop in the "normal" clothing section this past weekend. 4. I confess that I weigh myself every time I walk by my scales. 5. I confess that I was shocked to see a picture of what I look like right now because when I look in the mirror I still see me as heavier than what I am. 6. I confess that my self esteem has improved significantly. 7. I confess that having this surgery is the best decision I have ever made and that I'm loving every minute of it!

    Tired all the time?

Thanks! Getting the B12 shots is something I definitely am going to ask for. I also started getting dizzy when standing up at about the same time I started experiencing the fatigue. Maybe I'm a little dehydrated? I'm going to increase my water intake and see if that helps at all, too.

    Tired all the time?

I am good about my protein and taking my Vitamins. You do have a good point. It could be something like my iron. I go back for a follow up appointment on the 20th and will discuss it with my doc then if I don't end up calling him before then. Thanks!

    70 lb Progress Pic

Thank you, everyone. This week was an amazingly emotional week when I discovered that I was small enough to shop in the "normal" clothing sizes again. That's something I haven't been able to do for 20 years. Having this surgery has been life changing for me and the best decision I have ever made. I can finally look at a full length pic of myself and not want to cry. Better even yet is how great I feel. I even did a 5 mile walk for breast cancer awareness yesterday. I so, so, so LOVE my sleeve!
  14. I love my sleeve. I know several people that had the bypass and had lots of problems including having surgery again due to complications. I had my surgery July 26th and have lost 50 lbs, which is the same amount of weight my bypass friends had at this point after their surgery.

    July 2013 Sleevers

I asked my nut what my calorie and protein goal should be and she said there was no magic number and to just get as much protein as I can in. That doesn't seem like much help so I've just been kind of going by what everyone on here said their nut said. That's kind of hard to do seeing how everyone's nuts seem to say different things. However, they may be saying different things based on your current weight. I know that when I did Weight Watchers the more you weighed the higher your calorie intake was to avoid going into starvation mode. Whatever I'm doing seems to be working for me so I'm just kind of going by that. I did start using Fitness Pal today just to see how many calories and protein I'm currently getting in. I won't be doing it every day but I figure if I reach another stall then I can use that to see if I need to decrease or increase my calories.

    STALL :(

I'm 6 weeks post-op and hit a stall at 2 weeks that lasted for about 2 1/2 weeks. However, out of no where I started loosing again and lost 5 lbs just this week. I didn't freak out because after reading several posts on here it seems like everyone goes through this every so often so it is completely normal. Just be patient and celebrate all of the weight you've lost so far. The weight will start coming off again before you know it.

Day 4 - Post Op Thoughts

It won't be long before you are feeling better. Recovery is different for everyone. I felt decent after about a week. I felt pretty great after 2 weeks but was still a little tired. I'm six weeks out now and my energy has come back. My mental breakdown came a week post-op. I started having regrets because I was still on liquids and missed food. I cried most of the day that day. However, by the next day I got over it and just kept reminding myself that it was only temporary and reminding myself the reason why I had this surgery. For me, everything changed when I got to the pureed food stage. I didn't feel deprived because I was at least able to eat food again. I haven't felt deprived or had any regrets since. You're going to be fine. Just remember that "this too shall pass".

You look stunning! I love seeing everyone's before and after photos!
  22. What are some of your non-scale victories? I had my surgery July 26th. So far I've lost 34 lbs but there's other achievements that I see that help me on the days the scales aren't going down. I've gone down a pant size and anywhere from 1 to 3 shirt sizes. I'm starting to see an increase in my energy level. My thighs aren't rubbing together when I walk and I can tell that I walk differently now. I climbed two flights of stairs earlier this week and could still breathe when I got to the top!. Lol
