It could definitely be me, but i have more migraines now. sorry to burt your bubble! i had headaches before, but 2 and a half months later, i still have them. but could be different reasons now, not getting enough liquid in, not eating enough, dehydration, etc?! wish you the best of luck though!

Success/Failure of Sleeve
jules <3 replied to jenjo11072013's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It is very normal to be thinking you will be one of the few people who dont succeed with the sleeve. just over two months ago i was thinking the same thing going into it. I am now about 2 months and 1 week out and i STILL have those thoughts. why? the sleeve isnt a miracle, i already find myself regressing back to old habits. surgery will not take away all your cravings and hunger. maybe the first couple weeks, but it will change. i have no problems eating food and if i wanted to snack on chips all day, i could. maybe a little at a time, but i still could. it requires hard work and i find that out more and more everyday. it is not easy, and it is not a "cure". i fight for every pound i lose. but it does help get your mind right in the beginning, its up for you for it to stay that way. and i battle with that all the time. but i wish you the best of luck!! -
i am a little over two months post op as well and have been dealing with pretty bad nausea for the past month off and on...The first month felt like a breeze now i feel sick all the time as well. While i have no restrictions with food, i can eat pretty much anything already, i still feel quite nausious often. i have consulted with my bariatric surgeon thinking it was my sleeve, my obgyn, thinking it was the new birth control, and my pcp. and he just wants to give me anti nausea medicine but i dont think that is going to solve the underlying problem, plus i dont want to be on another medication for another symptom, ya know. wish you luck!

How long before you saw your weight loss?
jules <3 replied to Disabledaccount's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am only 28 pounds down, so i may not have as much input as others, but the first place i saw a change in was my face. The face is usually the first to go. and i think almost everyone notices my weight loss because of my "skinny" face now. From my past experiences, with all my attempts to los weight, for me, the hardest to get rid of is my legs and arms. BUT, i have noticed my arms got a bit smaller. Thank god, because i always cover up my arms, no matter what the weather be. I am very self conscious about them. my waist has gotten smaller as well, i can tell in my clothes. and me legs just have gotten more muscular. But from what i hear, the face and tummy are the first to go, or get smaller, so you have that on your side! haha. good luck! -
First off, try and not stress over the date. He is just a man, and trust me, men are far more stress than not. haha. I could easily tell you not to worry, that your beautiful, you should feel happy with your weight loss so far and that if he doesnt like you for you then he is not worth it. BUT, ive been in your shoes, and it is easier said then done. I have been with my man for almost 4 years and i STILL sometimes stress about what i look like, what im going to wear, etc. And through all my experience i can tell you this: as hard as it may be, when you are out with him, do not stress too much about how you look, or what your stomach looks like when you sit down or how your arms look when you take off your jacket, because you know what, those thoughts will consume you and you will end up not having any fun. The guy will appreciate smiles and laughter much more than a woman who cant stop thinking about how they look, cause trust me, they can tell! BUT, have a wonderful time. the dress looks good and you will do great!!

Disappointed with weight loss progress
jules <3 replied to KiteeVA's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
i have only lost 25 pounds and i am 2 months out. and im 28, not over 50, so whats my excuse?? i have just come to the conclusion that i will be a slow loser and i guess i had high expectations for the sleeve before. now, those expectations are nowhere near where i am, and i try so hard. i work out often. it sucks, but i try not to compare myself to the post i just read from someone who lost 50 pounds in 5 weeks!!! what the hell!!!....oh well, if i didnt have bad luck id have no luck at all! -
Preopper question about Metformin - did you keep taking it?
jules <3 replied to McButterpants's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hello. I took have PCOS. i had my surgery almost 2 months ago, august 21st, to be exact. the very next day after my surgery, which was the day i got discharged from the hospital, they told me to stop taking my metformin and spironolactone. so yes, they will have you stop taking those meds. Since i do have PCOS, my weight loss has been slow so by my own decision i am starting to slowly go back on metformin, but a lower dose, to see if it will help with my weight loss. my dr. did not tell me to do this, this is by my own choice. i just want to see if it helps or not! -
haha. i havent had a soda yet, but i have had carbonation... wait, ****, i take that back. i did have a little diet 7 up last week...my tummy was upset...but anywho, i like those sparkling flavored waters. it gives me a break from just having plain water all the time.. i miss carbonation a lot. i have carbination on a couple different occassions and im barely two months out. its not going to kill you! i dont miss soda, i miss carbonation!

and nor cal is way different than so cal...we have no options courses or 6 month supervised diet..its actually hella easy!
-
ditto to whatever the girl said above me. i as well went through kaiser nor cal.. south san francisco to be exact. you will have to go to a weight loss class, then referral from pcp. then you go to orientation class, where they give you preop diet and a whole handbook. you also have to attend a lifestyle changes class and a nutritionist class, both 2 hours, i was able to do them on the same day. they will weigh you at each class. you also will have to for a sleep apnea test prior. after the classes you do your medical assessment. then u meet with the surgeon the suregeon will give u a goal weight. mine was only 3 pounds...because i was losing throughout the program. before u meet ur weight loss goal u will also have to do a psych evaluation. very easy and the guy is cool. once u did those two last things u email them and say ur ready and they will set a date...my WHOLE PROCESS ONLY TOOK ME TWO MONTHS! WORD OF ADVICE: take every appointment they give you, try and not reschedule because it may take awhile for u to get a next appointment. if u have to take off work to go to the appt, do it!

jules <3 replied to extracat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

I'm sorry but I'm just not 'wait 30 minutes to drink after eating' guy.
jules <3 replied to endless80's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
ehhh i dont follow the rule much either. i dont drink while i eat, persay. but i dont wait 30 min after a meal to drink. especially when u have to take a pill and you cant take it on an empty stomach so you have to take it after you eat...its like come on now...the actual drinking after you eat just supposedly flushes your food out quicker but it doesnt make you gain weight. some people think that. but could also be a domino effect, flush food out quicker, get hungrier faster, eat more. but if u stay on your food schedule it shouldnt make that much of a difference -
You have such a pretty face........
jules <3 replied to MandaPanda's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
oh fack, dont you just hat that?! i literally have hotten that my WHOLE life...i completely agree with you, that will be THE DAY, when someone says u have a nice body, or you look good from head to toe...not just head. lol -
8 weeks out, officially hit the 30 pound mark, slow and steady wins the race....
jules <3 commented on adargie's blog entry in adargie's Blog
i am a slow loser as well...i am 6 weeks out and have lost 20 pounds thus far. everything you wrote, sounds a lot like me and my experience. not much i cant get down...chips and crackers go down way too easily. actually the easiest. i did have some choclate myslef when it was "that time of the month" but unlike your mini snickers i had a whole plain hersheys bar. oops, but hey, thats life. this process is frustarting, exciting and endearing all at the same time. good luck to all. i think my expectations were too high coming into this because i read so many of peoples post saying they have lost 20 pounds in the first two weeks..im like hey, what the hell, did they take out my stomach? Lol. it is what it is. and im trying my damndest! -
Lump from my throat to my chest to my stomach...and back again.
jules <3 replied to FatToFabulous's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
yes it hurts like hell. you would never think gas pains would be as high as they get after surgery. it is ffrom the gas they pump you up with. mine took almost 2 weeks to go away, but it DOES go away. you just have to wait and let it pass. good luck! -
Eating like a mad woman.
jules <3 replied to cescelli's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you have the "last meal" syndrome. its all in your head..your thinking is eat now because some extreme changes are about to happen. my surgeon warned me off the "last supper" syndrome and he told me to avoid it...i did farely well, and avoided it. whos to say if it helped anything or not -
