The single shake maker I have now doesn't thrill me and with several weeks of protein shakes ahead I want to invest in a great blender. There are so many up choose from..... Is the Vitamix worth the $$$. How about the Ninja? There are some Ninjas that catch my attention bc they seem so versitile.

December 2013 Sleevers Come In!
elsnanny replied to AtlantaRed's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I think all surgeons are different, but mine wanted to make sure everything flows correctly. He did say if I had one within 5 years I wouldn't have to get another. But, it wasn't bad at all. The gross drink is thick but really didn't have a bad taste. You only have to take 2 sips. Then the second drink was actually quite nice, like fruit punch. Whole thing was under 10 min. Good luck! -

I work as a nanny and I'm wondering if stay at home moms with toddlers can tell me how long after surgery before you were able to take care of kids or other nannies can tell me how long they took off? The baby will be 2 when I get sleeved and the only problem I foresee is getting him in and out of crib for naps. He can climb into stroller and car seat, so no lifting there. But, I just want to schedule enough time off to allow for proper healing. I know every person is different, just looking for an estimate. Thanks!

Hi all, I have love reading all your posts as I explore VSG they have been super helpful and very inspirational! I have attended the seminar and made my first appt. They said the first appt is 4 hours long. What should I expect at this appt? Is there anything I should bring or have prepared? I'm going thru Lahey in Burlington, Ma. Anyone else have experience from here?

Newbie with questions...

Vikyms, that's great! That's a lot for only 3 months out. You must be so excited! My first appt is Sept 13 and I'm so excited at the idea of the opportunity!! I've been overweight all my life and tho I diet and exercise...I lose 25lbs and end up gaining that and more back. So frustrating. I currently have been on weight watchers and working out with a trainer and I've been stalled at 23lbs..... I have changed my lifestyle in all ways so I'm feeling very encouraged that the sleeve will be the last tool I need to add to my lifestyle. I know it won't be easy, but hearing its worth it from so many -
