What are you scared of? The surgery? Post op? Just take it one day at a time. I was the same way. Don't get caught up in doing everything right. There are still days I don't get all my protein and water in but I can say it gets easier. Don't worry, you got this! Plus you can always lean on me and I will help as much as I can

You are so welcome! I am feeling great! Almost back to normal, maybe about 80%. I went back to work yesterday and started exercise (walking on the treadmill) one week post op. It's was not bad at all. Only thing that gets me is gas pain. BE PREPARED!

Gas X strips - so easy to take, they just melt right on your tongue 2oz Dipping cups (Walmart) - used these to store my food for after surgery (yogurt, applesauce, eggs, etc) they are the perfect size for your little pouch and you can just grab and go Unflavored Protein powder- mixed a tablespoon in everything I ate for a way to get added protein. Also made my own protein Popsicles with a Zoku mini pop maker Jello & pudding - sugar free of course just took a box of these in my favorite flavors plus a scoop of protein and mixed up a batch for the week - just follow directions on the box Sugar free Popsicles - a good go to snack Water Enhancer of Choice - you will get tired of water so I brought so many to keep myself from getting bored Sugar free mints - to keep your mouth from getting dry. The first few days home my month was do dry and I liked to use the mint to also help get rid of the protein and vitamin after taste Waterproof bandages - the hospital provided me with some but I am one that changed mine daily no matter what. I brought the kind that were just a size up from a band aid and they were the perfect size Protein shakes and blender bottles - I got 2 of the small size blender bottle and pre made my shakes for the day. As you can see I had everything in the fridge ready Mederma for your scars - once they completely heal rub on daily Miralax or Smooth Move just in case you are constipated Imodium for diarrhea - which I needed and didn't have because people only tell you about the constipation ( I know TMI) All your Bariatric vitamins - multivitamin, Iron, Vit. D, B-12, and Biotin Small bowls, plates, and baby silverware to help you eat small bites and slowly Comfortable place to sleep - I used a recliner but you can do a large sofa chair, couch, or even a toddler bed. (my friend did this, Lol) just so you will not accidentally roll over on your stomach. I also purchased a food mill for about 10 bucks off amazon to purée my meat but I have not got to the stage yet so not sure if it will be useful. I am only 2 weeks post op. Hope this helps!! If I think of anything else I will let you know Willa

Hey ladies, I just found this thread and thought I would introduce myself. My name is Willa and I am 2 weeks post op RNY today. I had surgery April 22, 2014. I feel great! I had a two week pre op diet where I lost 14 pounds and as of today I have lost another 14. That's 28 pounds!! And I am super excited. I am glad I found this group because the last month as been rough but so worth it! Glad to see a place of such great support! Hope all are doing well. Happy Tuesday!!

    Indiana Medicaid And Vsg?

Has anyone had the sleeved paid for by Indiana Medicaid (not Medicare)? I have been told that Medicaid will only pay for the RNY or Lap Band. I have Hoosier Healthwise (Medicaid) and looking to be sleeved in January 2014. My surgeon is at a Center of Excellence, I have completed my 6 month supervised weight loss, have a letter from my PCP recommending surgery and scheduled for my psych and dietician visits next week. Just really had my heart set on being sleeved only to be told Medicaid in the state of IN does not cover!
  11. That's good! At least you showed them that you can lose it! Praying you get approved soon, keep me posted
  12. Good luck to you as well!! You can do it! Keep me posted on how things go
