Anyone have allergic reaction to steri strips?
Living Lean 13 posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I would love to hear if anyone has broken out from the glue or strips? How long did it take the strips to fall off? I am itching like crazy and they have tried Benadryl, Allegra, cream, and now a steroid shot today. Thanks for any advice. Ps. I am eight days post op. -

These stalls are so frustrating. Still trying to convince myself that all will be ok. Clothes are looser, but the scale is not being kind. Hang in there everyone. -

Still stalled too, but seeing changes in body. My PA told me to go back to two days of liquid to break the stall. Going to try that one. -

I have a treadmill at home. So I am mostly walking on that and tried some incline. Did a few upper body weights, but I think I will be released Wednesday to try other exercise. Feels good to just make it more a part of my daily routine. -

Thanks for responding. I am able to also eat ground chicken and beef. I made chicken chilli tonight. I hope the scale starts moving again for us all. I have really increased my exercising and just can't figure out the right balance for my body. I did take my measurements the other day b/c I was feeling discouraged and felt encouraged by the inches I had lost. I go to the surgeon this week so I'm curious about their suggestions. I have been trying to track my food, liquid and protein on fitness pal. Lets keep in touch along this journey. I need the encouragement too. Have a good week. -

Hello my July30th sleevers. Ok, I need some help and encouragement. I have been in an over two week stall with no movement on the scale. Has this happened to anyone else? I know it is probably normal , but need to figure out how to jump start things again. Anyone have suggestions or in the same place??? Thanks. -

Hi July 30th sleevers! Quick question.. Is anyone still experiencing left side pain? Mine seems to have returned and I am wondering if that stitch inside is getting ready to pop or if it is something else to worry about. Thanks for any guidance. Have a good weekend. -

I am in my first stall as well. Trying to tell myself that this is normal. Just switched to soft foods and can eat a little more. Hope this doesn't last too long. I'm down twenty pounds total. -

Hi everyone. Good to hear and compare how everyone is doing. This is my second week back full-time at work. Last week I was really tired after work, but seems a little better today. I am still on full liquids through tomorrow. Get to start trying soft foods for three weeks on Wednesday. I am a little nervous to see how that goes. I have not thrown up at all and hate that feeling. I really want to avoid doing that. I think I will still have to be doing a couple of protein shakes a day to get in my protein grams. The dr said my energy should go up some once I start eating some more regular food. The weight is coming off slowly. Thirteen pounds since surgery and twenty total. I am pleased with that. I'll send a little report once I start on soft foods. Hoping to start the treadmill soon when my energy is up. Happy three weeks to all. Was good to hear from everyone!!!! -

I had the same reaction, but was able to go to an urgent care at the suggestion of my surgeon's office. They gave me a steroid shot and a prescription topical cream. The hives were gone in 24 hours. Hope you get better soon. -

Hi yellow box, I have been focussing more on protein grams and how much fluids. When adding it up though I am probably around this.... Protein. 60 ish Fluids 60-70 Calories - 500 or so. ( I am trying to make myself add another protein drink or soup though for some more calories and energy. I have been a little shaky a few mornings. ) I have lost 7 pre-op and 8 since surgery- 15 total. I am very happy. Dealing with a pain in my side though tonight. Hope I haven't popped any stitches....... All the best to you! -

Congrats on your loss yellow box. I understand about the heat......106 here yesterday. I started back half days and am resting the rest of the day. The heat zaps your energy quickly. Driving has not been a problem and pain is decreasing. Trying to focus on getting more calories , fluids, and protein in. I go next week for a follow- up. Hope it's a good report. -

Hi all. Going to try to go back to work a half day tomorrow. Still have some left side pain occasionally and get a little light headed. Much better today though. I am down 6 since surgery and 13 total since pre- op. I am very pleased. Don't have my follow up until next week. Still trying to get protein in. How much protein is everyone having each day? Thanks. -

Hi everyone. I am probably going to wait to go to work til Thursday and see if I have more energy. Felt worse yesterday, but better today. Still can't sleep through the night. I get uncomfortable and have to walk around. Having been trying to catch up on some work today. I am also having a reaction to the steri strips and am broken out in a rash. Overall though, it's getting a little better each day. Anyone have good suggestions for the full liquid diet? Hang in there. -

On the full liquid diet, I am drinking premier shakes, nectar shakes with crystal vitamins, propel, broth, cream soup watered down with 1% milk, and powerade zero. That part is going pretty well. Using gas x , heating pad , and walking for the gas pain. Good luck. One day at a time is what I'm trying to tell myself. -
Post surgery pain in the side
Living Lean 13 replied to buckeyefan1985's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have the exacts acme side pain as well and my surgery was on the 30th. Not sure how long it will last. Ready for some of the pain to subside and to have some more energy. I know I am being impatient. Think it will all happen with a little more time. One day at a time. I am able to sip most of the day. I am using the premier shakes and Nectar to get in all my protein. Hang in there. -

Hi there. I was also sleeved on the 30th. Day 2 and three have been a little rough...... Some nausea, worse pain, and no energy whatsoever . I am hoping tomorrow is better. I also was not able to sleep last night. I did better in the hospital with the pain pump. I know it will get better, just hard right now. Hope everyone is doing well -
Hi everyone. My surgery was Tuesday afternoon. I came home yesterday, but felt much worse yesterday. Allergic reaction to pain meds and couldn't sleep last night. Has anyone experienced the trouble sleeping? I can't wait till I feel human again and have some energy. Thanks for any advice.
