I am wondering how r u guys doing as far as the pre op diet. I am on a 30 days pre op diet;
· Two 8 oz. glasses of skim or soymilk milk, mixed with protein powder per day
· I can have three meals a day, which can include
o ½ cup of cottage cheese, non-fat ricotta cheese or non-fat, sugar free yogurt
o 2-3 oz. of water packed tuna, salmon, lean chicken, turkey or tofu
o Non-starchy vegies (raw, steamed, boiled or sautéed in 1-2 teaspoons of olive oil).
Since my doc requested a 5lbs weight loss prior to surgery, as during this first week I am taking the carbs away not all at once. Seems like 30 days on this diet would be too much. So here is what I am doing. No rice, bread, pasta, beans, potato, no starch. Lots of salad and protein, some oat meal, protein bars and fruits in general. I am planning to reduce the carbs even more next week … and the last 2 weeks go on the diet 100%.
What do you guys think??
